“Superb Paris Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2014

After the stress that is oftentimes traveling, this hotel was welcome respite. The room was clean and well ordered. The location was quiet and right around the corner from luxury shopping. The room size was just right for two individuals---not at all as cramped as I believed rooms in Paris would be--and the bathroom was quite spacious. Reception was wonderful--hailing cabs, recommendations, and keeping our luggage on the day we checked out until we left later in the evening. In the end, I came to understand there is nothing quite so wonderful as a hot bath and a warm towel after a long day in Paris. We were rather pleased with our stay, and I hope to return.

Room Tip: If possible, ask chose a larger room. While I am certain all the rooms are wonderfully appointed, tw...

This hotel is really great. We looked all over Paris for a nice hotel in a good location and we found it in Le Pavillon des Lettres. It is a five minute walk to Jardin des Tuileries and close to the metro as well.

The room size is what you would expect in Paris, and they are efficiently and elegantly decorated. The bathrooms are really spacious.

We found the reception to be helpful in locating places to eat. We would definitely return here again.

I stayed for 3 nights and was very impressed with the amazing staff and decor of the hotel/room. I know the area very well and the hotel's location is very convenient to major tourist/shopping areas. I enjoyed my stay so much that I am planning to stay at this hotel this coming Fall!

We had stayed at the Pavilion de la Reine (a sister hotel) in the past and had an excellent experience so we thought we would give this hotel a try and were not disappointed. The location was perfect.....a quiet neighborhood but close to many major tourist and shopping areas. We had two rooms on the third floor and they were predictably small.....but not bad at all by Paris standards. We appreciated the unique decor of each author-themed room and the bathrooms were well-appointed. One room had a slightly quirky layout with the tub/shower in one glass-walled (with curtain) area and the main sink/toilet in another glass-walled area on the other side of the room. Not at all your cookie cutter layouts! Service was excellent with very friendly and hepful front desk personnel. Like their sister hotel they have an honor bar in the lobby which I find charming. Overall we had an excellent stay and would highly recommend the property.

Dear Guests,

We would like to thank you for your loyalty to our Pavillon hotels. We are pleased to see that you greatly appreciated our property. Our decoration is slightly more modern and design than the one of Pavillon de la Reine. Indeed each of our room has its own author and special features. Our loyal guests often asks to discover a new one rather than have the one they have the last time…!
Also we are happy to see that you enjoyed our service as well as our cosy honesty bar and central location
We hope to seeing you back soon among us

Best regards

We had a wonderful short stay at Le Pavillon Des Lettres. Couldn't ask for a better location (8th) and a more helpful staff. Our superior room was a little small, but the third night we were able to stay in the Calderon room which had a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower. Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Room Tip: Calderon room - quiet and great view of Eiffel Tower

We stayed for 3 nights and were very impressed. The room was a little small but we had a lovely view of the Eiffel Tower from our corner room. The air conditioning was a little complicated but was sorted out by the staff. The free WIFI and quiet ambience was lovely.

Room Tip: Try and get a Junior suite if it's in your budget

We stayed 2 nights at the Pavillon Des Lettres last week & thoroughly enjoyed our experience. I think the 'clueless' staff member referred to in another review is probably in training & while she was not the most efficient, she was neither rude nor arrogant. We found front desk staff exceptionally polite & helpful with directions, booking taxis & suggesting places to eat.
Our room was beautifully decorated & in pristine condition. The rooms are certainly compact, but our bed was definitely a queen size (I know as we rented an apartment for the week before with a double wall-bed, ouch). The bathroom was light & bright with good amenities.
The lobby area with honour bar is a lovely place to rest & recover after walking around all day. Breakfast was good, with eggs made to order. Also, if you are gluten free, tell them on check in & they will provide GF bread for you.
This hotel is located in the 8th arrondissement, in a quiet street with a cafe & wine bar at the end of the road. Yes, they are closed on Sundays, but there are places open about a 10 minute walk away at Place de Madeleine or a delightful authentic French bistro called Vaolois 1868 a bit further away. If you like upmarket designer brands there is a plethora of them just around the corner on Rue Fauberg St Hononré.
Be sure to visit Laduree for a light lunch in their exquisite salon de thè, (order a macaron for dessert & skip the queues in the takeaway store.)
Nearby are the Champs Elysee (skip it), Petit Palais & Concorde, but head the other direction & find the real Paris, at Parc Monceau, Musee Jacqueline-Andre, & Musee Nissim de Commondo. They are all in the 8th.
We will definitely be back at this hotel. And note, it is literally around the corner from Le Bristol & at least half the price.
