“This is an appetizer - great first day strategy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2012

My wife and I spent 4 days in Paris and started our adventure with a ticket on the Paris Bus. In the course of about 2 hours, we made it through about 8 stops of the biggest highlights with an audio narrative along the way.

It really did feel like an appetizer - setting us up for where we wanted to spend more time during the rest of the stay. The nice breeze from the open air top level was also very pleasant as we clicked photo after photo during our tour.

After a full day of travel, this was a perfect beginning to our trip. Relaxing, easy, and informative. Hey, give it a shot. If you don't like it, just hop off at the next landmark!

“Great way to travel around paris”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2012 via mobile

The hop on hop off red bus tour was fantastic value. We bought our tickets in advance and used as soon as we arrived to get our bearings also you get an earphone so you have a running commentary of the sights or classical music which is great as you drive around. Would happily go on this bus again

“Best way to see Paris”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2012 via mobile

26 euros sounds a lot, but with the red bus ticket you can see all the most popular sights, getting off and on as you wish. There is a commentary in 12 languages, and it runs every 10 minutes. Each ticket lasts for 2 consecutive days.

“A great way to see Paris”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2012

It is not as fast as the Metro, but the Paris bus system is a great way to see the city as you transfer from attraction to attraction. The same tickets work on the bus as on the metro, and the bus system map is included on the same Metro map that you collect at any informatrion location within a Metro station. It can take a bit of study, because it shows the routes but not the streets. However, almost all Metro stops also have bus stops and that helps with orientation. Combined with a good street map, any decent navigators will easily find their way around the city and actually see stuff on the way.

“Travel in France”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2012

Instead of highway signs, i.e. I95 North or I40 East, the French will give the next town or major city that that particular road will take you to.In the case of the metro in Paris, the train will display the last stop on that line. So to be sure you are on the right road or taking the correct train, it is important to know the next town, or major city you are heading toward. Once you have that information, finding your way around France or Paris, becomes managable.
We enjoy the freedom of traveling on our own instead of with a tour group. We can go off the beaten path, linger longer if we find something we are interested in, or skip that which does not interest us. A smile, being polite, apologizing for not speaking the language, and having patience and a sense of adventure if we take a wrong turn has resulted in meeting new friends among the local people and seeing so much more than we would on a tour.
The trains and highways are well marked, safe, and easy to use.
