Owner description: This beautiful museum, once a railroad station, now houses a staggering collection of Impressionist art, as well as other items created between 1848 and 1914. In 2011, the museum is running a renovation of the top floor (impressionist gallery). Only ground and medium floor are accessible. The top floor will re-open on the 20th of October. Meanwhile, some impressionist masterpieces are not visible.

“Blown away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

It is like a dream come true when you see the paintings that you have only read about all your life. I am a huge fan of Van Gogh and Seurat. It took me most of the day to walk around and the building itself is beautiful. We went up to the old railway station clock tower of the old railway station and looked out and the view was amazing.

“Fantastic!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

This a spectacular setting for some of the most well known works of art on the planet! Worth going even if there were no paintings there as the building is so beautiful and the views from upstairs are wonderful.
The artwork here is breathtaking, I got goose bumps as I entered each room!
If you love art and you go to Paris don not miss this place.
The only down side is that no photography is allowed, WHY??? Would have been full marks otherwise.

“A must in Paris”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

Musee d'Orsay - what can I say? One of the 'must' in Paris. Museum of paintings and statues mainly, in a building that is magnificient - the former train station of Orsay. Of course you have the Monet, the Manet, Van Gogh+++ but you also have f.ex. furniture of art nouveau... so if you have time... take the time to wander around, on all levels, and all sides of the building. Cues at the entrance can be quite long, but they are quite efficient to get people through, but be prepared to have a crowd in some of the most popular halls/rooms with the impressionists at the top level f.ex.

“Art and architecture combined”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

What a way to change a train station into an excellent Art Gallery. An amazing place to visit and the art that is displayed will cater for all tastes, there is something for everyone.
What was disappointing was the cost of the food in the two restaurants (although it was Paris) but the ground floor cafe was excellent. Good access for those with disabilities

“Beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

Seemed like every other painting/sculpture there was familiar! The architecture - built within an old train station - is breathtaking.
