“Quiet intensity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2013

This museum is enclosed by a high wall, near the center of Paris, and --once you're inside the gates -- gives you amazingly quiet moments of reflection and solitude with the incredible statues by Rodin, most of which are outside the house, on the manicured grounds. Your first confrontation by "The Thinker" may be a surprise; you're not looking down on him, or looking at eye-level, so he's not sitting in a restroom -- he's on a pedestal, above you, looking down at you -- and the effect can't be captured by a photo in an art book. Before you visit these works, though, in fairness you might be interested to find out some information about Camille Claudel, Rodin's mistress, and competitor.

To see Rodin's work and his collection gives a new unique insight beyond reading and seeing the pictures in the books.

“Not to be missed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2013

The museum itself is one of the most interesting in the city, however the same stands for its beautiful gardens. Take a little extra time to enjoy the magnificent works of Rodin, and stroll in the gardens of his old house.

“Underrated and overlooked museum of a master sculptor's works”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2013 via mobile

Easy-to-find museum with more than enough works of beauty by the master sculptor Rodin besides the famous The Thinker (you can sit (and think?) with him in the garden) and The Kiss.

“hidden gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2013

My family and I visited here during the height of tourist season. It was fantastic! While the super popular sights were packed with people we enjoyed this peaceful, beautiful garden almost by ourselves! The works here are outstanding. The gardens are meticulous. The "Gates of Hell" is amazing and of course the "Thinker" is a classic. Excellent place to visit when the Louvre is packed to the ceiling! And it's included in your museum pass!
