“3 different tours, all top-notch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

Paris Muse merits the raves. My 22 year old son, who had never been to the Louvre, and my 55 year-old sister who lives in London and had been to the Louvre and other museums many times, were each delighted with the "fabulous" guides. The museum tours are limited to 4 people. Not at all scripted. They can present introductory overviews or give in depth and analyses and differing interpretations, depending on what you want. They often pose questions to get you to analyze the work. In an engaging way, the guides take you back in time, describing the historical context as well as how the art relates to styles from different periods. You benefit from being surrounded by a great collection as the guide asks you to compare and contrast artworks to help you appreciate them. We took the Notre Dame\Cluny, Highlights of the Louvre, and Hidden Masterpieces (Dutch), with three different guides (Inge, Barbara, Jessica); the content and conversational approach were consistently excellent. With the audioguide or a tour book, you receive isolated details-- who painted this, what year, etc, but without considering issues such as how including a glass of water in a still life allows the artist to demonstrate his skill in using paint to depict transparency, or how people in medieval times viewed rectangles versus circles on the facade of a cathedral. The Louvre or Notre Dame can be overwhelming but the Muse tours leave you instead with a sense that you have strolled along with an expert friend and developed some understanding of the place. The guides love the material and want you to enjoy and learn. We also took a tour through Context, and found Paris Muse every bit as good. Booking through the website is easy; you can exchange emails; tell them a bit about yourselves so they can tailor the tour; they provide a good map of the meeting place and photo of the guide, so you should have no confusion about meeting. Taking a Paris Muse tour will enhance your experience in Paris.

“Paris Muse at Notre Dame”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

Absolutely wonderful! We did the Notre Dame for families tour in August 2012. Our American guide was very knowledgable and engaging. My 7 yr old son loved the tour. I highly recommend this tour. The next time we're in Paris we will be giving them a call.

“Magical kids Louvre tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

We learned abut Paris Muse through a friend. We wanted our kids ages 7, 9 & 10 to experience the Louvre during their first trip to Paris but we were concerned it would be overwhelming and challenging. Paris Muse's kids scavenger hunt in the Louvre was phenomenal! This two hours was the perfect amount of time for their ages and this first visit to this incredible museum. Our tour guide Mary was patient, knowledgeable and excited to give the children a memorable and positive Louvre experience. The kids list this experience and one of the top things we did in France during our two week trip. They learned and retained facts from the tour that still discuss today, 2 months latr. It was well worth the cost in fact we wish they had kids tours of some of the other museums. We will use this company to do other tours even without the children in the future as all of the tours look interesting.

“Highlight for us and our three kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012

We did the Paris Muse tour of The Louvre which was just fantastic and well worth the cost.
Our three girls ages 8, 10 and 13 were absorbed and involved for the entire 3 hours. Not to mention the amount of information they retained that has popped up at various times since our tour.
Would definately recommend.

“Great for kids!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2012

We were recently in Paris with our three sons, ages 11, 8 and 6. This tour was one of the highlights of the trip for them (and for us). Our guide, Kelly, was amazing with the kids. They were a little shy at first, but before long they were walking ahead with her asking all kinds of questions. I would highly recommend this tour for families - it is an excellent way to see the museum and it really engaged our kids. We did the tour at the beginning of our trip (we were in France for 18 days and we did this tour on day 2) and we found that the kids took things they learned on the tour and applied them to other sites we saw (for example, they noticed things at Mont St. Michel that they otherwise wouldn't have noticed).
