Ok, let's put aside the fact that Parisienne waiting staff never seem to smile, this place is a good little find. It was recommended to us by a Parisienne - always a good start - and the diners proved that it's a favourite amongst the locals as it was full of business people and mature families, relaxing in that chic way that Parisienne's do!
It's located just off the hustle & bustle of the Champs Elysees in the smarter, more upmarket shopping area of the city where you find the big fashion players like Dior etc. and well dressed people everywhere.
It feels very authentic with a Swiss influence judging by all the wooden dividers. The diners were a mix of business people and local families. The service was efficient but a little serious - a problem you often find with Parisienne waiting staff - they don't smile very much!
The food was good. Risotto with scallops in a shell fish sauce to start was rich, creamy and first class. Duck with herb mash, veal with Dauphinoise, Beef stew, and a great quality burger were all well presented and tasted good, washed down with a 2011 Fournier, Marsannay at 35.00 euros.
A selection of mini desserts were good except for a couple that were gloopey and overpoweringly sweet - but all in all a very nice lunch.
The Bill came to 170.00 euros for 4 which included the wine. Not cheap but certainly not expensive either for central Paris!
