I took my husband to the theater last night, and used google maps to search for a restaurant nearby. I wasn't really sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to find a typical, quaint French bistro on a fairly quiet side street right off the rue de Rivoli, near City Hall.
There is so much that I could say about this place, and almost every word would be positive, but I don't have the time or the space, so I will just say I loved the decor inside, but I was even happier sitting outside on the pleasant sidewalk tables,
The server was sweet and attentive, with a shy smile and demur demeanor. The food was superb. I had seared foie gras on a pillow of "celeri" purée, followed by a lovely duck breast with violet potatoes. The potatoes were a bit too starchy, but a lovely novelty just the same. Finished the dinner with "Tonka" soup, delicious vanilla ice cream, and a slab of chocolate moelleux au chocolat.
Can highly recommend this place if you are in the area. We were able to eat early, so we were on time for our show.
