Our little family of 3 unrefined Americans was weary from a long day of travel from London on our first trip to Europe. The fussy teenager was prepared for disapointment from a foreign menu. But our very pleasant server was eager to explain the cuisine in english. Our first experience with genuine French food was amazing. The preperation, presentation and flavors were lovely. We had choices from lamb sweetbreads, mussels and salmon to a comforting chicken fricassee. The chef's respect for the ingredients brought us a new perspective on dining. While we were strangers in a strange land, Bernard du 15 made us feel welcome and comfortable. We would return to Paris just for another meal there.
