While looking for lodging in France recently, I found that “aparthotels” were becoming more prevalent. If a traveler is staying in an area for quite a few days, I would argue that it is a good option to consider. The flat we “rented” for six nights met our needs perfectly, allowing us to cook meals when desired, and offering three bedrooms and 1-1/2 baths for the same price as a hotel room. But what you see when you arrive is what you get for the stay; you don’t get a change of towels or a freshly made bed unless you have been there at least 7 days. You have to clean up after yourselves and take out your own trash. But this flat couldn’t be located in a better area of Paris. It is a short distance from two Metro stations and one RER station (with a direct line from CDG). The neighborhood is ripe with shops, restaurants, grocery stores, banks, etc. If I were going to live in Paris, I would want it to be in this neighborhood. And the “landlord,” Paris Appartements Services, is highly professional, providing excellent communication before and during the stay, offering after hour’s key pickup, short term luggage storage, and very clear, concise information about the property and its location, as well as services offered around the neighborhood. All in all, we were very pleased to have found this lodging alternative.
