“Nice Hotel in Paris”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

This is a very nice hotel in the Opera-Montmartre area of Paris. We have been to Paris before and stayed in 3 and 4 stars hotels that are very small/not clean so this time before booking our hotel I read several reviews and Hotel Joyce catch my eye so I decided to give it a try.

Paid about $130 euros per night which is about the average price for a 3 or 4 stars hotel in that area. The hotel is located in a very quiet street between the Opera and Sacre Coeur. It is about 3 minutes walking distance to the metro station of St. Georges which is clean and safe. There are several restaurants within walking distance plus there is a bike rental station right around the corner. We always came back very late to the hotel and felt safe walking on the streets. If you're up to, you can also walk to Galeries Lafayette (for those of you interested in shopping).

The hotel lobby is clean and the service was excellent. Because we got there early in the morning the room was not ready but they let us leave our luggage and use the free wi-fi.

The first room we got was in the first floor right next to the breakfast/communal area so we were not very excited about it. The room itself was great, very spacious, clean, well decorated. The bathroom was very clean and spacious as well. Only problem is that because it is in the first floor right next to the breakfast area there is not much privacy plus there are no windows. We requested another room but the hotel was full so they told us that the next day we could change. We spent the night there without any problems, in the morning we could barely hear the noise from the breakfast area. Even though the room was good we still decided to move to another room.

We got one on the third floor which was also very spacious and clean. The window was overlooking the interior patio (where the breakfast area is) which was nice plus it gives a sense of even more space. Room decoration was modern and all the amenities worked perfectly (Wi-Fi, bath/shower, toilet, safe box, tv)

Staff was very helpful with recommendations and our requests. Overall Hotel decoration is modern and feels new and clean. Breakfast was good plus in the afternoon they have complimentary beverages which is great.

I'm really happy we stayed at Hotel Joyce and would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: For privacy try one of the rooms with views to the interior patio. Also the higher the better. If yo...

This was a welcoming hotel with comfortable rooms and a light and pleasant communal area where self-service refreshments were available in the afternoons and evenings. Our room overlooked the glass roofed refreshment/ breakfast area and was very peaceful. Both ours and our sons' rooms were spacious and had good facilities. The hotel is close to frequent bus services and the metro, so travelling to the centre of Paris is straightforward and fairly quick. There are also restaurants close by if you weren't planning to travel. The staff were very helpful, and we would certainly recommend Hotel Joyce.

My husband and I have been choosing to stay at Hotel Joyce for some years now. This stay was as good as the first. We travel to Paris fairly regularly and we have, (all too often) been ripped off by four and five star hotels that cost a fortune and turn out to be really disappointing. We believe the very least a good hotel should offer is professional and friendly service with a 'can do' attitude, a CLEAN and QUIET environment, comfortable beds and well-maintained facilities. Hotel Joyce ticks all these boxes consistently. We always request a court-yard facing room - and no, there isn't much of a view, but if you've traipsed around Paris all day, what you're really after is a peaceful night's sleep. You will get it here. The bathrooms - a few years old now - are showing virtually no sign of wear and tear which tells me that the management at Hotel Joyce are doing their job properly. Yes, it's a small hotel but it offers extremely good value for money (believe me, you can waste alot of money trying out new hotels in Paris). I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a decent base in Paris, within easy walking distance of the major department stores, Metro station right around the corner, a good walk to the Sacre Coeur - great staff who will go out of their way to help you, and at the end of the day, a comfortable and clean room to return to. Thanks again, Hotel Joyce - you've done it again - you are still our No. 1!!!

Room Tip: A room facing the court-yard if you want real peace and quiet at night.

A very nice clean, comfortable hotel in a very good location. The room was spacious, well equipped with a good ensuite which included a bath/shower.
The staff were all very courteous, pleasant and helpful and provided good information and advice.
I will certainly use Hotel Joyce next time I visit Paris and recommend it to friends.

a very nice, clean and renovated hotel with an excellent service and very helpful concierge. easy accessible via various metro stations in the neighbourhood. spacious room and large bathroom with bathtub and quality shower head and mixer (grohe). large wall mounted tv-set, radio and clock with an ipod interface. next velib-station (paris bike rent system) only 300 meters away.
not cheap but worth it. will come again.

This was our second visit to Hotel Joyce we stayed last year.
We enjoyed our stay so much we decided to return
this August for 4 nights.
I must say that we enjoyed our stay even more.
The Hotel is spotless and the service is excellent.
The location could not have been better.
We thought the room we stayed in was superb.
We both would like to thank the Hotel Joyce Team for
a great stay in Paris.
Hope to return again soon.

Kind regards
Peter & Susan.

Room Tip: We thought the superior rooms to be the best choice.

I read a number of the reviews on trip advisor prior to booking. The hotel was rated well and it lived up to expectation. Funky little hotel tucked away mid-way between the Lourve and Sacre Coeur. Great location to walk around and see the city or catch the train.
The service was exceptional. The staff could not do enough for us and it made our stay in Paris all the more memorable. I have already recommended it to a number of people and will continue to do so for anyone travelling to Paris. I hope to stay again soon!!
