“Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2013

My wife and myself stayed here for 3 nights w/c 2nd Dec.
Warm greeting on arrival. Upgraded to an Exec room as IHG reward club.
Yes the rooms aren't massive but an enormous bed and certainly enough room. Especially as wanting to see paris not my room.
On our last day one of the ladies asked if we had been on the roof terrace, we advised that we had tried buy couldn't access. She then took us to the lift overrode the function so we could go up. Really nice.
This hotel is in agood position, try turning right out of the doors that leads down to a road with lots of great restaurants, that are cheaper.
Don't worry if you have booked this hotel, we will certainly stay again and in a great location

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Holiday Inn. The location was so good that we never took a cab and walked to most meals and a few tourist destinations. Otherwise we took the subway everywhere.

We were only in Paris for four days but thought overall the hotel was a good experience. It was smaller than preferred but for Europe it was certainly acceptable.

The bed (room 612) had very soft edges, which was rather odd, but we slept well overall. My only disappointments were the lack of a fitness center and the business center was really poor. It was bad enough that I had to do work on vacation but the computers were extremely and the printing quality was just as bad.

It would appear to be a relatively, minor enhancement to upgrade the quality of these services and hopefully the hotel will consider doing so. It will be more important of course for people that are ACTUALLY traveling on business!

By the way, Amarissa (sp?) at the front desk was great!

Room Tip: Certainly the Eiffel tower view rooms are likely the best, which will be the backside of the hotel...

This hotel was a small, modern and clean hotel. Couldn't really fault it. Close enough to metro stations provide easy links to anywhere in the city. Easy to get to from the Eurostar Terminal.
Was a treat for my partners birthday so paid a little extra for the Eiffel Tower view. Well worth it. Beautiful.

This hotel is well located - close to the Saint Michelle Metro station (route 4 that goes to many useful places, including Gare du Nord where you arrive if you take the Eurostar from London) and the RER Saint Michelle Notre Dame stop (from which you can take the RER B line to either of Paris's main airports, CDG and Orly). It also is walking distance to many attractions - Notre Dame, Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Sainte Chapelle, etc. There are many reasonable restaurants within walking distance. Some (or all?) of the rooms on the top three floors have small balconies that either have a NW view including the Eiffel Tower or SE which presumably lets one see Notre Dame that is just North of East. Although we were using points for our stay, we were upgraded to an 8th floor room with a view of the Eiffel Tower as premier members of the IHG rewards program. There is also a roof-top deck that affords great views and is has a bar in the summer months. At other times, guests can go up there via their room key to take in the view.

The only down side to this hotel is that, even by European standards, the rooms are very small for two people. If you have more than one suitcase, you may find it difficult to find a place for it. There is only one chair in the room - there would not be room for another! In the summer this would not be a problem since we could have sat on the balcony (it had two chairs and a small table). Of course, in the summer the occupancy rate would have been higher and we probably wouldn't have been upgraded to a room with a balcony. Perhaps the rooms without balconies are a little larger, but I don't know.

Another problem, increasingly common in many overseas hotels, is that the bathrooms are increasingly exposed to the rest of the room. This one has a frosted glass door right at the foot of the bed so that if one person gets up in the night to use the bathroom, the bedroom is strongly illuminated. Some hotels we have stayed in have a clear glass window between the bathroom and the bedroom, in some cases with a barely adequate cover. It seems that current architects believe in "form before function" rather than "form ... follows function" as expressed by the American architect Louis Sullivan.

Dear Gogocar,

first of all I would like to thank you for all the positive points you pointed out about our hotel and the detailed description about the area.

I apologize for your bad experience in the room. You were perfectly right about the size of the Parisian hotel rooms. In Paris, and specifically in the Saint Michel district, the hotel rooms are not very spacious. The dimension of our rooms matches the standards set by the arrondissement though. But we work hard to try to give « a soul » to this place, a particular cozy atmosphere and to provide a personalized service.

It will be a pleasure to welcoming you again at the hotel in a larger room!

Best regards,

Annalisa Castobello - Guest Relations Department

Great stay. Very clean, great central location, staff was very professional and helpful. No regrets! Be sure to visit the terrace on top of the building at night. Great view. Close to the Cathedral of Notre Dame and the subway.

The hotel was fantastic staff wonderful spotlessly clean very nice decor etc well worth the money.
The view from the roof was like others say very nice especially at night really pretty. Paid for the Eiffel Tower view room upgrade nice to wake up and see it must say it didn't disappoint.
The hotel is in a superb location shops the seine very close you must walk it's the best way to see and absorb the atmosphere it's great very classy.saint german is gorgeous at night it comes alive restaurants everywhere you must try the little authentic sort of family run ones. There is only one thing the hotel could do if you don't and that's make the directions clear although there is a map when you arrive on the train you don't actually have a reference point to start especially when it's dark and raining like when we arrived it is tucked away a little but that's a very small detail and shouldn't put you off.Trip overall fantastic room 611 date 29/11/13- 1/12/13

Room Tip: Eiffel Tower view 6th floor upwards a must really nice

We stayed 2 nights at this lovely hotel close to Notre Dame in the Latin quarter of Paris.
Check in was efficient ( we were early but our room was ready. ) The room was very comfortable, the decor is lovely and the shower was amazing! Great location for exploring the sights of Paris. Close to metro station and 10 min walk from the railway station.
Breakfast ( 18 euros ) included in our tarrif. Either continental breakfast at the bar or Buffet style in the restaurant. Buffet was adequate. ( We are used to the buffet at MGM Grand in Vegas so were bound to be slightly disappointed!)
Only downside was the lack of available drinks and very slow service at the bar.
Would return here again on our next trip.
