“Fantastic location and very good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

We booked this hotel in Paris for the end of our trip to Ireland, St. Andrews, Scotland and London. I wanted to stay at an american hotel for communication purposes. It was really a gem located in the St. Germaine area and only a few feet from the underground. AC really worked great which can be hard to find in Europe. The staff was extremely nice and there is an amazing roof top bar/restaurant on the top of the building with amazing views of Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower. We literally could not stop taking pictures of the sunset from that location. The only negative was that the front desk was manned by one person from about 11pm and could not leave their position until shift change when we needed extra linens. Otherwise it was nearly perfect. Very reasonable priced as well!

Stayed for 6 nights late June 2013 on Level 2. Fantastic location near Saint Michael station and steps from the Sienne and within walking distance to the Notre Dame. Countless restaurants nearby, and strategically placed within the Paris metro system. Standard rooms are small but nice and very comfortable beds, towels are thin, bathroom has great shower facilities. Good bar area and lounge. Great rooftop terrace view with bar available on some days. Staff very helpful - 9/10

Room Tip: Start from level 8 down, the higher the better. Rooms at the front of the hotel are quieter on the l...

The location of this hotel is great--- very close to dining, snacks and the St Michel metro. The rooftop bar had an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower. The room sizes were small but not too bad considering it's Paris. 3 minor annoyances during our stay:

1. The bathroom was never supplied with sufficient toilet paper and bath products. Kind of strange, but we were always running out of toilet paper and shampoo/soaps. I wished that they would give more than 1 set at a time.

2. We asked for a pack & play (playpen) for our baby to sleep in. It was not very clean and smelled kind of dirty. My baby kept trying to put her mouth all over it and I double checked it ---- ewh. Stains and smelly.

3. The front desk gave us incorrect directions --- we asked for the closest supermarket to pick up small items for the children (juice and milk). Rather than sending us to the Franprix right across the street near the Gyro stands, I was told to walk 5 blocks to a Monoprix which I never found. It's OK...I eventually found a Carrerfour Express near St. Germain (past the Odeon stop) but it was a very far walk. The Franprix is only 2 minutes from the hotel. I was confused as to why the front desk ladies didn't know that the Franprix was there (we found it later on that night when buying Gyros).

4. We had an Executive room with a sofa bed. To use the sofa bed, the maid had to turn it at an angle and pull the whole thing out, blocking the entire room and our pathway to the bathroom. We "gave up" on that idea and just put our toddler on the bed with us.

Despite the minor issues, we loved the location and will definitely be back!

I love rooms with balconies and this was a great one! They also upgraded us to an eifel view on the 8th floor, that was awesome! Rooms were very clean and the shower was very good. The balcony was almost as big as the room but the room was tiny. This is probably the smallest room i have stayed in a very, very, long time. Basically room for a bed and not much else. A mini fridge and small closet is in a little alcove. The worst is the bathroom has a small glass door that does not really close off the bathroom from the rest of the room. Ok for couple married for a long time, but if this is your first trip with your girlfriend dont plan on eating too much fiber..

The location was excellent, we loved being able to walk along the river to the Louvre and to Notre Dame and we also liked having the metro and RER trains just steps away. Even though the rooms were so small we were really happy with our choice because of the great location, clean rooms, and nice balcony with an Eiffel Tower view.

Breakfast was crazy expensive for what they give and how they present it and not very delicious. Take everyone's advice and eat outside, there are lots of options very close.

Room Tip: View of the Eiffel was great, the standard rooms are tiny though

We have stayed in a number of HIs in Paris and this was by far the best! We were staying on points and I was pleasantly surprised that we had a room with a balcony which was an added bonus. The rooms were more boutique hotel than HI and had everything that we wanted in a great location with the RER just a minutes walk away (so long as you get the right exit) and all the restaurants of Saint Michel just a minutes walk away (hint, try the restaurants just off the main routes).

This hotel is in a great location, central to everything (Saint Sulpice Cathedrale, Saint Sernin Cathedrale, Cafe de Flore, Notre Dame, buses and subway) and has a convenient little store right beside it, for your food and beverage needs. We were in room 610 and had a little patio with a table and two chairs, that looked out at the Eiffel Tower. The room was clean and met our needs perfectly. It was compact but most rooms are, in Paris, unless you want to pay the big bucks. It also had a morning breakfast and we were given a 25% discount. We preferred to eat outside the hotel so no comments about the quality of the food. It's in an area with an abundance of sit down and/or take out restaurants from creperies to gyros, and French, Italian and Portugese restaurants. We didn't have one bad meal experience.

Room Tip: Pick 610 if you want to see the Eiffel Tower. You also see lots of rooftops, so try to get a high fl...

First, the location was excellent - within walking distance to the Notre Dame and very close to some of the most important points of interest - The Louvre, D'Orsay, etc. (I lived in NYC for many years so we ended up walking everywhere). It's also right next to the Latin Quarter which is touristy, but lively at night and fun to walk through at night). The metro is right around the corner and easy to get to. For someone going to Paris for the first time, I highly recommend it.

The staff was always friendly and helpful.

The hotel also has a terrace with views of the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame. There were some amazing views at night. The lobby is nothing fancy and contemporary (not what many would consider Parisian charm, but the way I see it, you'll be spending most of your time out and about enjoying the magic of Paris).

The room was spacious not only by European standards but also American. My wife and I were staying 9 nights so we got upgraded to an Executive room. The only complaint was that the bathroom had a window into the room, with a shade that could only be accessed from the outside. Not sure what they were thinking there.

We had a great experience and would not hesitate to stay there again.
