This hotel ended up being just ok for what we required- a place to keep our suitcases, shower, and sleep. There were a couple of hiccups that we had to overcome along the way, including a door that wouldn't budge and locked us out (solved the following day by switching rooms) and a safe that wouldn't open (instead of coming up to help, the guy at the front desk just told the universal code to all safes in the hotel- needless to say we didn't use the room safe on account of its easy accessibility by anyone who knew the PIN). The staff were sporadically helpful depending on individual personalities. It's a bit disappointing when you have to initiate the greetings when coming and going. The location was pretty good in terms of centrality to where we wanted to get to. I agree that there is no way that this is a four star hotel and do wish that we'd stayed somewhere a bit lovelier seeing as how we were in the city of love. I'd never stayed at a Best Western before and after this mediocre experience, probably never will again. Next time we'll look a bit harder and we paid a significant price under the impression that we were paying for real quality... Not so correct.
