“Small but great location, tasteful and very friendly and helpful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2010

All hotels in Paris are small given what they cost but still just keep in mind...it's fine for a weekend stay but with a lot of luggage you might feel cramped - I'm referring to a regular room, don't know about the suites. Otherwise it's great. Location is good (close to public transport and many bars & cafes), staff is friendly and extremely helpful. Decor is stylish, bathrooms nice and shower was awesome. Beds were also super comfy albeit a little short.

Exterior of the hotel is strikingly painted with the image of a tree in shadow, which is a good clue to the high design standards once inside. Our room was small but cleverly planned, extremely comfortable. Breakfast choices were good and stylishly presented. Staff were very pleasant, made us feel very welcome. The side street is quiet but gives easy access to transport and good walking routes to the centre, and many local cafes. A good quarter for spotting artists' houses, small publishing houses and many tempting antiquarian bookshops - shame we don't read French well enough. The cemetery at Montparnasse is a local site worth exploring: we were intrigued by the votive offerings left at Serge Gainsbourg's tomb.

Great little place tucked away on a small street near Luxembourg gardens in Paris. 15 minute walk from what i believe is the best walking part of paris (St. Germain/Latin Quarter, etc.). The staff here are truly amazing -- they have not been corrupted by "Parisien warmth" towards foreign tourists if you know what i mean. They care about each guest and really make you feel at home. Whether it was letting me use their internet/print out things, or making all the arrangements to mail me back a clothing article that I accidentally left in the room, they were a delight. Room was great too. Clean, modern, comfy. Tight living spaces, but hey this is Paris, not Chicago.

Several of us check into this quaint, trendy, themed boutique hotel. From the moment we arrived we were treated like very special guests. The daytime staff was especially attentive and personable. We recoived all the assistance we needed for our daily Paris adventures! The room were clean and modern. We could not have picked a better location and it located only a block from the subway (truly the best way to travel in Paris) and wonderful cafes and boutique shopping. I would recommend this hotel for anyone on pleasure travel to Paris.

I stayed at the Apostrophe for 3 nights. I was traveling on business but my boyfriend was along for fun.

The pros:
- Immaculate, up-to-date, fresh and modern rooms.
- Very comfortable bed, nice firm mattress, quality linens.
- Extremely quiet hotel on a quiet little street - we never heard street noise and only once even heard other guests, since each floor only has 3 or 4 rooms on it. This is truly an intimate and unique boutique hotel.
- Free wifi that was easy to access.
- Stylish and fun room decor - we actually switched rooms during our stay after seeing a room across the hall, just to mix it up. Both had great style.
- The beds have really nice headrests that make it comfortable to read or laptop in bed.
- The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They got us dinner reservations, oriented us to the neighborhood, and even helped me work up the courage to brave the Metro despite my lack of French! Kind and considerate in all things. This is a very small boutique hotel, so you see the same couple people each day and they take solicitous but not nosy interest in your day.

Very few cons:
- Rooms are quite compact, but space is well used.
- The rooms either come with
a. a wonderful shower with a large showerhead and several spray nozzles on the side, or b. a jetted tub that can be very relaxing
I enjoy jetted tubs but like a spacious enclosed shower (sometimes a challenge when traveling in France). The room with tub only had a shower wand. So, if you love to take a stand up shower with showerhead above, request a room with a shower rather than a jetted tub. The showers are very nice.

I would definitely recommend this hotel as an excellent value, a very comfortable and quiet place run by excellent people in a pleasant walking neighborhood.

We completely enjoyed our stay @ Apostrophe. The hotel is beautifully designed cozy place. Our room had a lovely view and the shower was just amazing! Everything from the delicious morning breakfast, to the carefully prepared tea (the carafe in it's own little black zip up cozy!) to a glass of wine and a chat at days end was a delight. It all felt, we all felt special. I would return in a heartbeat.
