“A jewel just a block or two from the Pompidou Center”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

My wife and I had a magnificent meal at this postage stamp size restaurant on a short street in the heart of the Marais. This is literally a family enterprise: The husband in the kitchen and the wife serving in the dining room. But what they lack in size they make up for in quality of the ingredients and taste, And the prices are reasonable. Not to be missed, but book in advance and be sure to reconfirm when you get to Paris.

“Inflexible staff, strange attitude.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

Can't comment on food as we were not able to eat there. Booked by email from Australia before we left for our anniversary, was told too far ahead, try again one month before. Did this, was 'accepted' & confirmed. Hard to find is an understatement, very drab frontage, tried to confirm upon our arrival in Paris, they didn't answer and no messages accepted, tried again next day, they were closed or so I assume.

Usual traffic/weather problems in Paris, walked, nearly ran to make the time, less than 10 mins late, was greeted by woman who said she had sent me an email and tried to phone (no such email and no phone messages were on my phone, so. ..) she said they didn't have any tables, no friendly approach, just no tables, booked out. Funny how the entire restaurant had one table with 2 people eating and no other people, at all, anywhere. Just how many times does one have to book to ensure they get to eat a meal there. We did the same for a place in London and there was no problem. We found a lovely restaurant which we returned to for a second time so perhaps these people need to remember that they are only one restaurant in a city full of them. I would suggest if a person books more than one month ahead, and then is prepared, because of the Management restrictions, to go to the trouble of waiting and rebooking the required one month ahead, this would mean they are serious about actually eating there. I have ticked that they accept reservations, but do they really?

“Excellent , not over priced”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012 via mobile

We found it just by walking near by, and while searching for a place to eat, the trip advisor application revealed this very small but excellent restaurant.
Delicious food, served in a beautiful ways, friendly service, and not expensive as you might think of such a good place. The chef is very talented!
If you are in Paris , you must try this place

“Well worth the search.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

This tiny bistro is difficult to find, and well worth the search. We walked in at 2 PM w/o reservations and secured the only available table, thank you. Our hostess was polite, calm and most helpful selecting wine. And we truly enjoyed a great meal! Endive w/ beets & comte cheese, lovely chicken morsels in a creamy salty polenta, grilled hackfish on a medley of finely chipped vegetables & aubergine, very tender roast veal with sauteed mushrooms, 50 ml Cote de Brouilly & coffees, all for 60 Euro. To our minds, this is what superior Paris dining is all about. We shall return. Next time, dinner! And we'll book ahead.

“Delicious food, lovely wine, could do with more atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

We enjoyed our evening here: the food was great, the desserts especially so and the wine was good. Not bad value (130 euros for 2 main courses, 2 desserts, water and a bottle of wine). It's small and intimate which was lovely as we were on honeymoon but it could have had a little more atmosphere - all the diners were very quiet and there was no music so we felt like we should talk in slightly whispered tones. Other than that it was lovely.
