Visited after reading the review in Lonely Planet and would have rather have spent 3/4 more euros per person and gone somewhere else. Think everyone else in the place went because of lonely planet!
The decor is the best bit, the atmosphere was not the same as other places. The service was polite and efficient.
We went for the 12.9€ menu (which is good price but for 3€ extra each but had better meals for 16€ for three courses during our stay). I started with onion soup, which was over powered by salt and dried herbs. On closer inspections one of the herbs was a fly, which made me want to leave, I should have complained. My partner had pate which was a biggish portion, but with slimey salad a lack of flavour and no butter.
I followed with beef bourguignon, again this was salty with dried herbs and didn't taste as good as I'd had the previous night. The portion size was good with lots of meat. My partner had steak which was very very chewy, and the chips were so, so shiny and greasy.
Dessert was chocolate mousse which was ok and prob the best course.
Overall I would advise to go somewhere with a bit more atmosphere, and spend a few more euros somewhere else for nicer food our bill came to 43€ with wine, we spent 48 for much much on meals on rue mouffetard. The fact all the customers seemed to be there due to lonely planet should have been a warning, there were no locals.
