“Best Hot Chocolate ever!! ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013 via mobile

Following a chilly river cruise we stumbled across this quaint little cafe just near the Pont Neuf.

We ordered 2 hot chocolates and what a treat we got. It came as a traditional French hot chocolate should.... With a jug of melted chocolate and hot milk so you make your own!! Beau

We then had a creme brulee and an apple pastry with amazing vanilla ice cream!!

A little expensive but a very special treat

Do visit if you are near this end of town

“Steps from tourist-central, a charming haven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

Place Dauphine has always been a favorite place of mine in Paris. Just steps from Pont Neuf (New Bridge), it is an enclave of small cafes and public strolling space. Wanting a late lunch one afternoon on my way back to my hotel, I took a chance on La Rose de France, and was so glad I did. They had a carte with lots of choices, but I chose the daily set-price lunch at 16 euros, which included a choice of appetizers, main course, and dessert. The appetizer of marinated roasted peppers and other vegetables was fresh and perfectly presented; the risotto main was absolutely delicious, and my dessert of "deconstructed tiramisu" was a treat. I can't wait to go back and try this place again, for lunch or dinner.

“Coup colonel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013 via mobile

We ate here for the second time last night. All meals were always excellent. We asked if they could prepare a coup colonel for us for dessert. They didn't have any lemon sorbet so suggested to use home made pineapple sorbet. It was presented beautifully with much flair and turned out to be the best colonel ever. It is not on the menu (yet). Ask for it - the manager or chef will hopefully remember.

“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

We ate here because of its location across the place from our hotel. Tiny restaurant and not inexpensive. Service was not quick, but the place has atmosphere. We were on holiday, so the speed of service was not a problem for us. I would go back again.
