“A lovely little gem , in a lovely little neighborhood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2014

Staying at a hotel on the Rue Petel we discovered a truly Parisian restaurant with unique flavors and dishes . Having just returned from museum hopping , and needing a great lunch we walked down from our hotel and found what was a very unique and delicious stop .After drinks ,they started us off with a complimentary appertif . Then for starters my wife had the beef tartare , I had the crayfish salad replete with melon and seaweed . Oh so delicious were both starters that we could have happily stopped there . Accompanied by a nice glass of French white wine we were served our entrees - a lovely veal skirt steak with a lovely creamed side of potatoes in an even lovelier brown gravy. Oh so delicious !Dessert put us over the top and we relished every bite . The service was superb , but English is left to one server who we needed to translate a cocktail but it made it all the more authentic .The layout is that of a library with a lovely wine display and many French business casuals appeared for lunch with us .Obviously well liked by the locals as well . As to cost , very very reasonable for the type and quality of food - would be great for dinner as well starting at 7:30 pm on some nights . Call ahead .Don't miss this one . Easy to find right out front on a little intersection on the Rue Petel .

“Lovely local restaurant ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2014

We stayed in a hotel just around the corner and wanted somewhere local for our first night. We looked up the best local restaurants on trip advisor and were not disappointed.
The restaurant has a lovely decor and the staff were very charming and helpful!
The menu was good and varied with set price options as well as a la carte. We had a set price menu of starter and main for €22. It was very tasty an the fish was very fresh. My mother thought that there was a little too much creamy sauce and too little fish but then we thought this might be a Parisian thing. Also my duck casserole was huge but didn't seem to come with any vegetables and accompaniments.
A bonus was the extra dishes that seemed to be free, we started with pate, breads, fois gras creme brûlée, then a rum baba which was a pleasant surprise!
The Sancerre was fabulous!
Overall the experience was very good and although we wouldn't return as we like to try differnt places I would recommend to anyone staying in the local area.

“off the beaten track, very good food, service and fair prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

invited by a friend who lives in the area, this restaurant has been probably the best meal we had in Paris.
At lunch there are some "formule" that combine plates from the menu for a fixed price:
entrée-plat-dessert: either two of the three or all of them.
Plates are well sized, food is excellent and presented very well.
It is primarily a seafood restaurant, I can recommend the Scallops as main, but the fish is excellent, too. Desserts are very good: the crème brule and the chocolate souffle.
The service is much better than a traditional bistro and the table are nicely spaced for your privacy.
Definitely recommended.

“The best oysters in Paris!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014 via mobile

If you like oysters, this is one of the best places in Paris. Go for the No. 2 spéciales and you will not be disappointed.Great selection of other seafood dishes too, such as Sea Bass baked in salt crust. Excellent service from a dedicated team and a wonderful selection of wines. They also offer a takeaway service which I often avail of. The only thing is that the oysters are so good here that you may be ever disappointed by oysters elsewhere!

“Superb Seafood Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2013

We tried this restaurant as it very near our Hotel. We were very pleasantly surprised by the excellent choice of seafood especially. We choose the 36 Euro set menu, which started with a seafood selection of Langoustine, Sea snail, Shrimp, Winkles & cockles. They were so fresh and came with a couple of sauces. The main course I had was veal steaks which I really liked. To finish I had a pear ice cream with a fruit sauce. The wine selection was well priced for Paris.

The service was excellent, and the waiters were very helpful in explaining any dish we were not sure about. Overall this was a superb place for seafood. It was not overly noisy. A wee gem in the 15th arrondissement. I would certainly dine here again. 9 out of 10.
