“Quiet Place in the lively Latin Quarter”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

The hotel is ideally located - just few steps from the river, main tourist attractions (Notre Dame) and bus/metro. The lobby area is lovely, nice breakfast (for 11 euro you will be given: coffee or tea, juice, cornflakes, jam, butter, croissant and a piece of baguette) and friendly staff.
Most of the rooms have a courtyard view and thanks to that my first night was silent (what I can't say about the second one, as the wall are thick and I could hear everything happening in the other room).
The bathroom was small, located in the corridor. Only the wc have a door, bath is just in the open space ... as a single traveller I didn't mind it.
Thenplace is nice, but I would not call it a boutique hotel. The only boutique things are: price (168 euro for a single room WITHOUT breakfast) and looby area. Still, I liked the place and maybe would be back.

This is very close to the Seine and Notre Dame, so the location is perfect. It is also near a Metro Station and in a very safe location. The room was clean and the average small size you expect for Paris. It has an elevator, which I needed. The bathroom was decent, except the shower door didn't keep water from spraying all over the floor. The room was dark, even though there was a window to a courtyard. The bed felt great on the first night, when I was tired from the flight. But, by night 2 the bed felt like a rock. Because of that, I would not stay here again, despite the ideal location.

This was my 5th time staying at the Hotel de Notre Dame "Maitre Albert" and it keeps getting better and better! And its recent rennovation has made it much funkier and more fun! When we needed to add another night to our stay, the lovely lady at the front desk took care of all of the arrangements for us and even got us a larger room. The location is amazing, and every morning it was a treat to walk out to the place Maubert, grab a baguette and a bit of cheese and then head out for the day. Also, being close to the RER stop (St. Michel) is a godsend and makes getting to and from the airport a breeze. i HIGHLY recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to wants great location at a reasonable price. It absolutely delivers.

Vey nice boutique hotel. Excellent location, with a short walk to all that the Latin Quarter has to offer. Metro very close.

Lovely lobby area. Rooms are compact, but after all, this is old Paris. Request a shower-type room if you are on a tight schedule. The bath-type room takes some time getting used to, unless you have the skills of a contortionist. Great fun nevertheless.

Make sure that you take a note of where the light switches are in the corridors. They are on timers!

Excellent, very friendly, multi-lingual staff.

Room Tip: Pick a shower-type room

We stayed here on our honeymoon as the price was reasonable and we were swayed by the spa bath :) The room was comfortable and the location was great. The only downside was there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. I do not know if this a british custom but we really like having this in rooms as it means we can have our morning cup of coffee before venturing out and the room was also small. The bath was in the main room which was absolutely fine by us, but if you prefer your privacy then this wouldn't be the hotel for you. We wouldn't stay here again however as for £130 a night which is what we paid, we don't think it was worth this much but I guess it is Paris and across from the Seine etc. I would probably recommend it if it was just an average trip but not for a special occassion as it didn't feel special enough

Room Tip: Get one with a spa bath :)

Yes its very, very small, but lets face it who spends much time in a hotel when your only in town for four days.
Advantages,,, fantastic location, safe at night, right on the doorstep of the lively Latin Quarter and all its restuarants and bars. Metro within 200mtrs and well served on all lines. Very friendly receptionist (the older lady). Very clean and decor modern.
Disadvantages,,, Room so small we had to pass things accross the bed as we couldnt both walk in one direction towards the wardrobe. The walls are so thin we could hear talking in every direction from other rooms and one night had to listen to the amorous couple upstairs in quite some depth, (lucky it didnt last that long). The younger receptionist when we arrived really did not want to avert her head from her laptop and was quite rude when i had the cheek to ask her some questions. Also they market this hotel with bathrooms with sparkly baths etc, not all the rooms are equipt with these although our basic shower was good enough. As for breakfast, we didnt want to pay 11euros for a coffee and croissant as Starbucks and lovely cafe"s nearby.
Would i stay here again ? Yes if only for the price and location, although i would ask and pay for a bigger room if there is one.

A fantastic hotel in everyway. No it isn't the biggest room you'll ever have, but within a stones throw of Notre Dame I defy you to find a better hotel for a better price.

Wonderful service from friendly staff, the hotel is always clean and wonderfully presented. We will keep coming back!
