“Typically french”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

After reading mixed reviews on this place i was very surprised at how good and very French it was. many people said it was a pure tourist trap but i wasn't aware of anybody that wasn't French local. I visited with my French colleagues and we were treated to reasonably good wine and amazing steak and chips that were served well cooked and the portions were very very substantial. The location and the building also add to its "bistro" authenticity with the layout over 2/3 floors of an art deco adorned building. Altogether a rousing success of an evening where you can be as loud or as discreet as you like. A good night out.

“Excellent value in typical Parisian restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

This restaurant is over 3 floors with a central atrium linking all floors. The maitre dhote and his servers are very welcoming and knowledgeable about their menu. The service was excellent and the meal was good value for money. the house wine - from the herault - was also a good price. The atmosphere is good, especially if you reserve a table on the third floof alongside the atrium looking down through the the other floors and people watching. You need to book. The fresh seafood in the menu is available to view at the entrance. They specialise in quality oysters at good prices

“excellent food but unfriendly service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

I was here several times, because I didn´t find any restaurant in Paris with better beef. They have their own supplier Pascal and I must say, the Charolais is here unbelievable good!!! But the service is very unfriendly to foreigners they don´t speak french. Like 15 years ago.
I recommend to all visitors to study the menu in advance (web site) and be sometimes ready for a very slow service.
But all kind of beef (incl. f.e. kidney :-) ) are excellent. The choice of wine is very good too. And the overal scenery is very nice, you will like it.

“Functional and agreeable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

This is not cuisine of a the highest standard, just good classic French dishes at a reasonable price and served quickly. It's a good place to go if you need to eat in the area, and the open plan of the building makes it very enjoyable.

“Classic French experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

We walked over from our hotel with no reservation and were warmly greeted and seated at once (on the middle level at our request). The young waiter was very friendly, and even though I was trying to speak French, he answered in English. Although there is an English menu available, most of the patrons were French. The food was typical brasserie fare, very good with fair prices. The atmosphere is bustling even late in the evening although we were not rushed at all.
