We stayed at the Hotel Raphael and were looking forward to dinner on this beautiful terrace restaurant. It was a lovely summer evening. The decor includes many bushes and trees, our table was surrounded. Unfortunately we had to change tables because the bushes were poking us in our back.
The maitre d was very pleasant and helpful explaining different dishes and recommended a fine wine. Things went downhill from there. Although it was early in the evening and the restaurant was not crowded, our server was very slow and unfriendly. The food was average. After telling us about the ( limited ) dessert menu, our server's response to my husband's innquiry about an alternative was " I can't help you."
The views are spectacular -- the Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Elysees are a block away, Eiffel Tower close by, and the city lights are beautiful from any spot on the terrace.
However, it i s very expensive, even for Paris. Cost for our dinners and wine was more than 250 Euros.
After dinner we met a couple in the hotel bar who had dined at Les Jardins Plein Ciel the night before, and their assessment of the food and dining experience was very similar to ours.
