“Excellent food and very personal service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

Ended up at Le Restaurant out of coinsidence. It was the last day of our trip around Corsica.

Totally seven adults and two small children, we all got our needs catered to. The food was excellent, wine recommendation perfect and they took a personal approach to the children.
Given the design savvy dining room, that level of personal touch was very unexpected!

The restaurant also has a gorgeous view over the harbor since it is situated on the first floor (with a terrace) and is overlooking the marina.

Can really recommend Le Restaurant.

Perfect food and very good service. The night we ate here was the best experience on our trip. I would not miss this place if you are in Ajaccio!! Great value for money;)

“Fantastic food in fantastic location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

For the last day of our corsican vacations, we (parents and two children, 16 and 7) decided to go for seafood. The choice was risky since there was only one review (admitedly very good). Very very good choice.

The location is terrific, just on the harbour. However, contrarily to the dozen of so restaurants below, the location of The Restaurant at the first floor shields it from the roaring noise of hundreds of customers. We started on the patio. However, the weather becoming chilly with the night falling, we were proposed another table inside. The decoration is very original and quite nice (a special mention for the toilets, which style and functionality are pretty outstanding).

We realised the place was special when we saw the menu, presented in old books, each page protected by silk paper.

The food was heavenly. The classics such as fish soup were first class. But some of the dishes were frankly unique. Try the "beignets d'anemone". Original and delicate. The desserts were very special too. Have a go at the mint sorbet. Quite unlike any mint sorbet I ever had. The waiters brought us additional plates so we could share our dishes.

From originality, realisation and presentation, the food is of Michelin star rank. Beware, the quantities are more like a regular restaurant. Which means that after amuse-bouches, starters, mains and desserts, you are ... filled.

The apperitives and wines were very nice too. We did not try the "oustanding wines" because their prices were out of our reach. But the regular ones were top of the range too (we happened to know some of the wineyard they came from).

This perfect dinner was served by perfect waiters and waitresses. Helpful without being intrusive, able to comment on the dishes and wines.
