So it's an Ibis budget, a chain hotel that looks and feels pretty much the same everywhere you would go. If you're going to Ajaccio for a business trip and you have a car, it can be a good choice.
However, if you're a solo backpack traveler like me or a couple/family without a car, I'd rather try to book somewhere else.
First of all, the hotel is quite far from the center. By foot you have a good 40 minutes of walk to get to the port for instance. Add another 10 minutes to get to the very heart of Ajaccio.
You cannot actually rely on public transport to get there. Line 4 gets you to the hotel every half an hour or every hour on weekends, line 3 stop closely by, but service ends at 7-8 PM. That means that in the evening, when you will be either too tired or tipsy or full or all three, you'll have an hour long walk up a hill.
The area where the hotel is not the best, to be honest it's the ugly side of the town and you might care about that when you're on vacation.
The hotel however is new, very clean, sort of modern but it seriously lacks personality. It feels somehow like one of those new student dormitories. If you're going there for vacation, a more charming Corsican place would certainly leave you with a better memories. Breakfast is good if you appreciate quantity more than quality.
Notice that there are no real bathrooms. A flimsy half transparent glass door separates the room from the modular fibreglass shower, an extra-small sink is placed in the room together with a mirror, and a wooden 'door' hides the closet. Yet you can see and hear everything. When you're travelling alone it's ok, when you are 3 sharing the room it can be quite uncomfortable I suppose.
I had no idea how to use the integrated air conditioning and it the phonic insulation is not great.
