“Quick comprehensive tour of Ajaccio”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

We opted for the longer tour which cost 10 euros (note: cash only) and we found it gave us a quick introduction to the city. We did not rent a car so this was perfect for us. While you travel around, they play a pre-recorded tour in both English and French which was helpful. The longer tour covers the old city, as well as, heading out to Illes Sanguinaires while the shorter tour only covers the old city portion.

My only complaints about the tour: I wished there was more time stopping at Illes Sanguinaires (you only had 15 minutes and we were able to sprint part way there and sprint back). I don't know why one side of the train had this plexi-glass enclosure...wished it was open so we could take photos or the plexi-glass could be cleaned?

“A quick tour around Ajaccio”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

We arrived at Ajaccio on 3 September on the Thomson Dream cruise liner. On disembarking we soon came across 'Le Petit Train' which was just about to set off on the shorter of the two trips that it does around the town. It was only 7 euros each for the 45 minute trip which included a 10 minute stop at the statue of Napoleon at the top of the town. We hopped on and and found the tour a good starting point for identifying a number of places that we subsequently visited later in the day. Thoroughly recomended if this is your first visit to Ajaccio.

“Great way to see a LOT of the island -”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

It's just riding for about two hours on a little "train" - through the town itself, with brief stops at Napoleon memorial, a ride along the coast line, and a rest stop far out at the end of the island (where the "blood (red) islands" are so notable at sunset), then back along the coast, a quick drive through the old section of town and a drop off at the local market square. BUT for 10 Euros - it's a great investment and overview of the island. Better than most of the cruise ship packaged tours available ANYWHERE. Great for an inexpensive overview of the island. I'd do it again (despite what other reviewers say).

“views good otherwise skip this”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2011

this was one stop on our 1/2 day guided tour which we booked thru Princess.
We wanted to experience all the countries on our Mediterranean cruise so this seemed the best choice.
It is a pretty island and I still think it was better to do this then to stay on ship - just don't expect a whole lot.
The bus ride is not for the feint of heart - major twists and turns along the mountain - I don't get car sick but this one does turn the stomach a bit.
We went to a honey farm - again, interesting but not fabulous.
