The Centre Nautique is the old harbour master's office on the port in Bonifacio. It's in a great position and the owners have maintained a nautical theme throughout. The rooms are duplex - smallish lounge area with spiral staircase up to a mezzanine with cosy bedroom and bathroom. Very stylish but a few irratating things have been overlooked - for example the wardrobe is upstairs so you have to lug case up the steep staircase and the only mirror is a tiny one in the bathroom.
We were also disappointed with the standard of service. When we arrived the receptionist was very unfriendly. There was scaffolding up outside and builders were working on the shutters right outside our window. There was no explanation from the hotel and the drilling started up again at 9am the following morning - not the most relaxing start to the holiday.
Our room was on the ground floor overlooking port - but as the window was right on the breakfast terrace we had to have curtains shut all the time. If you book make sure you get a first floor room - or if not a garden view would give you more privacy.
Breakfast isn't included - it is 12 euros extra - but when we went to the buffet most things had run out - including plates - and not been replaced. It seemed as if they just hadn't got their act together.
The restaurant is described in the guidebook as being one of the best spots to eat in Bonifacio - unfortunately when we were there (first week of June) it was deserted.
Overall the hotel is very stylish but lacking attention to detail and some of the staff could definitely have been friendlier and more professional.
