“Worth the visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

Very prompt response on booking and great recommendation to book for dinner - delicious food, attentive staff! Charming room - very comfortable and well worth deviating off the AutoRoute to find it! Would certainly visit it again!

We stayed for 1 night at this hotel. The building is old and very well restored. Our room was large and on the ground floor with windows on to the street. No air con but we were ok as it was not that hot.Comfy bed good quality sheets.Minimalist but functional. We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good-expensive though.(Might be an idea to have a menu of the day). The chef/waiter was really helpful the menu was in french so he explained the dishes on it.One problem, the restaurant is really small and i think this inhibits people in their conversations as you were well aware other diners could overhear any conversation.Breakfast was good.Troyes has plenty of bars and restaurants and the centre is a 5 minute walk away from the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on our way down to Provence. It was a little difficult to find but only because of the confusing one way system of Troyes.
On booking the room, the hotel almost immediately emailed us welcoming us to the hotel and inviting us to eat in their restaurant (we did and it was excellent although expensive).
The room was very well presented - although there is no air conditioning and it was quite warm. Our room looked into the small side road (not busy or noisy) and so we didn't want to open our window.
The staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English.
The location of the hotel is also excellent - easy access to Troyes which is a very pleasant town.
If you want a very private and intimate experience then this is the hotel for you.

Central location, friendly staff and pretty setting. Nice big rooms, cosy with beams comfy beds and veery clean. Those were the positives. On the downside, the rooms are stifling hot, there is little sound insolation and I was woken by noises from the next room.... bring some earplugs. The road outside the hotel is narrow, the parking for the hotel is on that road, making it tricky to pass. The breakfast is expensive. We booked a champagne package which meant getting a bottle in a bag when we checked out! Not great value for money.

Room Tip: Bring your earplugs!

Superb hotel, beautifully restored in the historic centre of the pretty town. The medieval room was fantastic, very romantic. Breakfast was superb with a good range of options. Small amount of free parking available outside the door.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

We stumbled across this one, I am glad we did! Recently completed renovations make this a wonderful place to stay. Shame couldn't have stayed longer and explored the Champagne region some more. We stayed in one of the larger rooms upstairs and were delighted. Very clean, well laid out, comfortable homely rooms. Staff were very helpful giving us a list and addresses of places to visit in the region. All of these places were unconnected and pleased with the referrals. Great location to walk around the old town from. Many excellent places to eat , drink and spend time. We managed to park t the front door at no cost, although there is plenty of space around the corner. Breakfast may seem a bit expensive and you may be tempted for a cheaper option, but...take the time to enjoy the surroundings with a lovely local breakfast served at your table. This is part of the experience.
If you are looking for a short stay in regional France, put this at the top of your list!!

We chose this hotel for a stopover en route to Calais, and were delighted with it. The restorations has been carried out beautifully, and our room was large, had a wonderful view over the gardens of the adjacent Museum of Modern Art, and also had a splendid bathroom. It is a 10 minute walk away from the centre of the city, but a mere step away from the Cathedral. We were able to park directly opposite the front door of the hotel in the narrow lane, which I would imagine might be difficult at a more busy time, but I beleive there are alternatives nearby.A word of warning - if you have heavy suitcases, are on an upper floor, and are only staying overnight, decant what you need into an overnight bag - there were two flights of wooden stairs up to our room that would have been quite a challenge to haul our large cases up. Overall, an excellent hotel.
