“French style, er, cos it's France”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2011

I went with 6 colleagues, all Brits. We liked this place. Very classically French in decor, style attitude and menu. Our two staff did roll their eyes a bit when a bunch of 'ros-bifs' arrived late in the evening and didn't have a clue about anything, but our butchery of their language and quaffage of their champagne kept them amused and raised smiles by the end of the night.

Menu is lots of classic French cuisine - I steered colleagues away from more 'exotic' pursuits such as andouillette, and even the fussy eaters were able to find good food. I had Lapin au Four. Nice.

Champagne, of course. We opted in our ignorance for the basic stuff and were rewarded for our thrift with a very acceptable drink.

Not a bargain place to eat. But a good experience.

“Don't go here! The negative reviews are correct.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2011

I read the restaurant reviews about unsatisfactory food and bad service but decided to tryi it one time, thinking maybe they were wrong or unlucky. Bad decision!
The welcome was dour and unsmiling but the venue is charming. When asked about 2 menu items the waiter did not know any detail.
We chose the scollops for starter and they were excellent. My lamb noisettes were served in a sauce dominated by too much rosemary to a point of entirely spoiling what potentially was a great dish. My partner had the rabbit which was bland, slightly cool, and very ordinary.
When we told the boss the meal faults he just stood there, no defence, no apology, and clearly did not care. He had no desire at all to take feedback and has never heard of customer care!
We paid the bill in full and left DISGUSTED,
Don't go to there until they have new management.
By the way, it is not normal for us to complain about any restaurant and this is a rare occasion.

“Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2011

Nothing stood out. Tried the tripe sausage specialty. [Andouillette] OK, I did it but probably wouldn't do it again. Glad that I tried it, The service and organization of the restaurant was so so. Lots of movement but inefficient. Fish soup was thin, rognons were small and not cooked well, champagne was sweet (ugh), house wine mediocre, but the salad course was excellent. Decided not to try dessert.

This restaurant's food was fairly good. However, the service was completely indifferent. However, it is a good place to go on Sunday night.

“Bad food”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2011

We had a Bar grillé et son tian de légumes confits : bar was a "babybar", perhaps 50 gram was eatable. Tian de légumes : without seasoning. Presented on wooden plate.
The other main course :
Trio de porc fermier aux 3 pommes
- Boudin noir « maison », pommes fruits was good, apple charcoaled
- Croustillant de pied de cochon, pomme purée : acceptable quality
- Andouillette « maison », pommes frites : andouillette was terrible, had the impression we were eating sand.
