Loved Templiers. The rooms were good - not really too special, but the service was excellent and the breakfast was dreamy! The room was spacious, and the pink marble bathroom was kind of fun, but the rooms were neither here nor there.
The location was good. It wasn't right in the center of things, but it was easily walkable to everything. So I would say it was convenient. Besides, a little walking after dinner felt good! And they had parking in a little cobblestone courtyard, which is definitely a good thing!
The best thing about Templiers was their breakfast. It was outstanding. It was so perfect and French and wonderful. Breakfast was in the breakfast room, which was a very sunny room wiith lots of glass and light. The wallpaper was like Monet's waterlilies - very fresh and colorful. And there was china and tons of silver on the table. Very formal setting. Then the first thing they bring out is some homemade yogurt in a small glass jar with jams on the side. So nice to mix fresh strawberry yogurt in fresh yogurt. Then they bring out a bowl of fresh fruit and then.....the most amazing pastries I've ever had. The pastries - pain au chocolat, palmiers and croissants - and they warm the pastries to the exact right temperature, so they're not too hot and not too cold. Oh my goodness, they were SO amazing!!! It was the perfect way to start off our vacation in France!
Oh, I get wistful just thinking of it ;-)
