“Awful hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

We stayed only one night there during visiting Loire Valley. It is a budget hotel but is should be clean at least. There is no word for the shower how terrible it was. I was in a shock and I did not dare to use it with my 4 years old. Apart of these the biggest shock was when we were checking out. The Eastern Asian manged hotel receptionist could not understand a word in English and or pretended and they charged my credit card without my knowledge!!! Absolutely unacceptable!!! This hotel was a real joke. Not recommended at all.

As a group of six we stayed in two rooms - a twin and one for four people. The hotel is very well situated in a great area of Tours - not far from the beautiful square with loads of restaurants, bars & shops to tempt you along the way.

The hotel looks to be in a huge old house with each floor converted into rooms of various sizes. The is no lift, just a spiral staircase, so if you've got lots of luggage & not staying on the first floor, you may find this a struggle.

The rooms we had were far better than expected, given the star rating & price. Each with towels & basic toiletries. We stayed in July and there is no air conditioning, so had the windows open - note there is a lot of street noise during the evenings/early mornings, so bringing ear plugs if you are a light sleeper (or just want to sleep) may be a good idea.

The host was helpful in providing some suggestions for eating. Breakfast can be provided at an additional cost, but we opted for local bakeries (there are plenty around). Overall, this a great cheap option to stay in Tours, especially if you are going to be out & about most of the time.

Well situated, within walking distance to station, museums, many restaurants and opposite the best Chinese restaurant in Tours. We had a large room with one double and two single beds, dining table, separate toilet and a bathroom with a lovely hot shower over the bath. This was on the first floor. The room was clean and wifi available. The host was most accommodating as we had bikes and were leaving very early the next morning. A little dark on the stairway and no lift

I found it really worth 2.5 stars. It had crazy stairs, no lift and it was, austere, cold with new bath and nice hosts. It cost us 80 euros with parking and breakfast per night. The plus was right in the center of the university area and one block from the Loire. It also had off street parking for six at a fee, which was inside the hotel. Breakfast was additional. The usual suspects, no better.

we stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in October 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was a great location and the couple who run the hotel couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The lady spent a lot of time helping us to book a place in Avignon which turned out to be very good also. The room may have been small and there was no lift but lots of other things made up for that.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

We travelled through France to Southern Spain this summer, so this is the first of several reviews.

This was our first stop over... hmm. As the last reviewer said this placed really has a 1970's feel, but not in a interesting retro kind of way - everything is just in need of a serious touch of TLC. Owners are very welcoming, although we asked for adjoining rooms so we where next door to my sons, but that wasn't available, secure parking (anything bigger than a Mondeo/Insignia, forget getting into the parking space!) and good location - but we stayed in way better hotels for the money during our trip - for a central stop over, maybe, but we are looking elsewhere next year.

BTW - out of the door, turn right, then left, found a brilliant bar, Chess Bar, and across the way a little bit is a very good Italian restaurant (perfect for kids, good pizzas, etc).

This looks like the last time someone updated the rooms was in the 1970's,it was like going back to my childhood without the fun,the smallest single bed ive ever seen even warwick davis would have troubl fitting in it,great location if money was spent could be so much better

Room Tip: stay somewhere else
