“An excellent choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

A spacious room at a very reasonable price and valuable advice from the owner on where to eat and French pronunciation. The hotel itself is in a wonderful part of the town and the owners are very charming and genuine. A short walk to the train station makes coming and going and day excursions to Amboise and Chenonceau a breeze and very good restaurants nearby, Au Lapin qui Fume was a recommendation that is well worth following. The Loire River is just around the corner and if you are lucky you might be in town for a weekend wine show, or if not, make your way down to the Wilson Bridge and join the locals for a Saturday night of food, wine and entertainment on the banks of the river or a Sunday afternoon/evening at the same location where you can enjoy traditional dance and music (15th century) at Guinguette de Tours sur Loire. Tours is a fantastic destination in itself and a very convenient base for exploring the Loire Valley.

Room Tip: I had a back room with views over the rooftops.

Stayed 3 nights in this cute, lovely hotel. Located in a nice street, surrounded by restaurants cafés and bars. Close to the main train station, 10 mins by walking. Even closer to the Loire River, 2 mins walking.

The owner of the hotel is very friendly and helpful. And a very adorable dog.

I'll come back again.

Room Tip: Better to choose a room facing to the garden, very quite.

Family stayed with us in town, and this hotel is conveniently located if you plan to visit the city. The street itself is one full of little bars are restaurants, and thus a great start if you stay in Tours. The rooms are larger than I expected and well decorated and clean. It is clearly a family owned hotel, with appropriate personal service. There are three things to consider, though. Parking is not available next to the hotel, and free parking is a 5-10 minute walk. If (in summer) you want to open the window and have a street-side room, it can be quite noisy in the weekend. Finally, as most smaller hotels in France, there is no elevator available. I did not verify, but heard breakfast is a bit poor. Stairs are roomy, though. Overall I recommend this hotel if you don't plan on coming by (or at least not using) your car, as the hotel is personal and for a correct price.

Room Tip: Rue Colbert street-side rooms are noisy on weekend nights

This is a great little hotel in the heart of Tours.
It's an easy less than 10 minute walk from the train station and tourist office. Since I came in by train, I'm not sure about the parking or convenience of driving to the hotel as it is on a small one way, pedestrian type street.
The hotel itself is well maintain by what appears to be a husband and wife team...and their cute little black and white mascot. Truly the only 1 change I would make would be like one other reviewer mentioned and that is to have a shelf for shampoo/soap in the shower. By no means a deal breaker for me but I'm not a fan of leaving the soap and shampoo on the floor of the shower.
I had a room at the back of the hotel so it was very quiet. Perhaps this was in part due to the weather (very wet) during my visit.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel as it makes for a great sleep because it is very quiet.

First of all Tours is a beautiful place. The hotel is on a vibrant street with loads of different bars and restaurants, off the main drag but still very central and only a short walk to the station etc. not too busy so noise wasn't a problem, our room overlooked the courtyard at the back though. Breakfast was really nice in the garden, usual continental stuff. Really friendly owner who helped us out with our travel plans. They also have 2 very cute small dogs who were around outside. The room we had was decorated all red with a Moroccan feel, it was lovely. Overall really loved it. Stay here!!!

Stayed in a triple room which was very spacious and clean. Hotel is located on a street with a great choice of restaurants and bars. The owner recommended a few local restaurants (Le Laurenty and Au Lapin Qui Fume), both of which we enjoyed. Breakfast at the hotel is available for 7 euros pp (toast with various spreads, croissants, yoghurt, tea/coffee/hot chocolate). During breakfast the owner's cute King Charles spaniel sometimes came out to say hello to guests and loves to be patted. The owner of the hotel was very friendly and helpful, and spoke good English.

A few things to note - it can get noisy in the street at 1-2am so I'd recommend requesting a room at the back (facing the courtyard) if you are a light sleeper. Side street parking is available nearby but it's best to get a park just before 6:30pm, and then it is free until 9am the next day.

If you are looking for value in Tours centre, this place should be on your list. Small family run hotel right amongst the action with nice helpful owners. Refurbished rooms with great showers. Get a room at the rear as the street is buzzing. Pleased with our choice.
