“Friendly, personal 5 star service for a 2 star price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2011 via mobile

Yes, Hotel Ronsard only has 2 stars, it would have 3 if there was an elevator. Ask for a room on the ground or first floor, that solves the problem.

No bar or restaurant either, but plenty of choices in rue Colbert just a 3 min. walk away.

So central, too. Magnificent Tours cathedral 5 mins. walk, old town square 10 min., station 10 min.

We found on-street parking easily each evening on our return from chateau hopping, but get a GPS in your rental car!

We found this hotel after reading Trip Advisor reviews. This is a good small budget hotel ran by a husband and wife team. Monique is delightful, always smiling and very helpful. For a budget hotel (74 Euro for Superior room) I cannot criticize anything, rooms are small, modern and extremely clean, they may have been recently refurbished. The breakfast room once again is meticulously clean, the Owners obviously take great pride in their hotel. Breakfast is 8 euro, is basic but okay for the price. The hotel lets itself down by not having the air conditioning on during the night or first part of the day and I could not recommend staying at this hotel if it is hot for this reason only. We had two restless disturbed nights because of the hot stuffy room.
The reason given for turning off the air conditioning during the night was because of noise. If it was a cost factor, I would have preferred to pay more and have a comfortable sleep. Perhaps the issue of air conditioning noise could be addressed by the hotel as the Owners
do seem to take great pride in their hotel.

We stayed at Hotel Ronsard for 4 nights in April 2011. It is very well located near the city centre and close to many eating places. The hosts are very welcoming and efficient. The rooms appear to have been recently renovated. While they are small they are very comfortable and the beds are excellent. The bathroom is smallish bit very well set up. The hotel is clean. Parking can be difficult as most street parking near the hotel is taken but the pay parking is not far away. The breakfast is excellent. While we were there I was unwell with a chest infection. The hotel arranged for an english speaking doctor to come and he only cost Euro40. The staff were always courteous and helpful. Good value for money.

We stopped for two nights during our honeymoon in the hotel Ronsard . About the Hotel you can say only good things - nice, quiet, friendly. Staff is always helpful. Secure underground parking close to the hotel. 8 euros per day. Breakfast at the hotel typically French. Fresh croissants, marmalades, jams, fruit - good coffee. Room very clean, nicely decorated. Internet works fine.

Stayed here just one night on the advice of tripadvisor. Were not disappointed. We got great value for money. We paid only euro72 for the superior room, and an extra euro8 per person for a lovely breakfast. Small family run hotel very near centre of Tours. Less than a 10 minute walk to place plumereau. Our room, although basic, had a chic elegance. It was large, with a lovely french window, and badly needed air conditioning (it was 38 degrees cent. that day!). The en-suite was modern and everything was spotlessly clean. I would recommend this hotel for location and value for money. One drawback- there is no lift so hauling suitcases upstairs is a pain!

Let me first say that i don't normally write reveiws for hotels, good or bad, in fact this is my first Trip Advisor review, this hotel though has me hot under the collar, literally. It's 21:30 and 32 degrees outside after reaching 38 odd degrees during the day so you can imagine that it's hot in the hotel. After sitting comfortably for a while our aircon cut out, went down to reception to see if we can have the problem rectified only to be told that they shut the air conditioning system off at 21:00 to keep the noise level down. Would not even consider turning it back on for the comfort of their PAYING guests. Not sure how this hotel rates so well on Trip Advisor and other sites, DO NOT STAY HERE IN SUMMER, be warned!
