“Charming, quiet, great breakfast, attentive owners--what else can you ask for?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012

This was the best surprise on our first visit to France. Pre-trip information said things like, "Need to park down the street" so we didn't know what to expect. Well, we were thrilled! The place is backed by a river and the courtyard with table and chairs for breakfast and wine were really special--a city park is across the way. Our room was spacious and quiet and sooooo... comfortable. Breakfast was better than most in France. But the best thing about Le Logis du Bief was the owners. They were just delightful people, spent plenty of time with us defining the area and directing us to the right places, and we felt like family quickly. We would recommend this place to anyone wanting to experience the authentic Frence B&B with all it's charm. Say hi to the Schnauser puppy--he's sooooo cute!

Room Tip: Ask for breakfast on the riverside terrace if the weather is nice.

Many thanks for the review and congratulation to the photographer ......
The puppy is more and more pleasant and is more or less now the manager of the house.
We will have always pleasure to welcome you provided you don't mix Loches en Touraine with another Loches.....
We keep an excellent souvenir of your stay . The weather is quite nice for the time beeing and Loches is busy and crowded.
ALL THE BEST TO BOTH OF YOU.

A second visit to Le Logis confirmed our initial view that this is the best B7 B that we have encountered in some 12 years of visiting France. The warm welcome from Jean Claude and Moha was like returning home. The superbly appointed rooms, we have now stayed in all of them, quiet surroundings and the great, convivial breakfasts ensure that this is a stay to be remembered above all others. This time we stayed 6 nights but wished that time would permit longer.

Room Tip: Le Logis offers you a choice of excellent rooms, or a superbly appointed self-catering unit. The Agn...

This place really is a dream and we have stayed here the last 3 years for one week. The hosts, Jean Claude and Moha, are so helpful and are willing to make reservations and help out with advice about the weather etc.We now regard them as friends of ours. The decoration is lovely and the view from the relaxing patio across the canal to the gardens is beautiful. There are plenty of things to explore in the medieval town and the surrounding countryside..The WIFI was very useful for my son to catch up on work.Would really like to keep this wonderful place a secret so I can ensure my reservations !!Last but not least I am in love with the dog .Looking forward to next year.

We had an amazing stay for our first stay ever at a bed and breakfast. We stayed the night of the 16th and I wish we would have stayed for much longer. The Agnes Sorel room is beautiful, with a big tub, an amazing private balcony overlooking the river, and oh, the bed! So soft! We ended up going to bed much earlier than we thought because it was so comfy! The hosts were very helpful and directed us to a delicious restaurant to eat at that night for dinner, and then served a delicious breakfast the next morning. Their little doggie is so cute and friendly too! I really wish we had stayed for longer -- you should stay for longer than we did! Don't miss out on the charm of this bed and breakfast and the surrounding town of Loches!

Thank you!
Victoria and Dustin

Bonjour

We have really appreciated your short stay and we have to thank you both for your nice evaluation and for your recommendation to stay more than one night . We of course would like your advice is followed .It's really a pity to have a one night stop over in a so beautiful town .
I must also thank you for the nice letter you have left in the room which is not common and represents a very delicate and rare attention.
We hope to see you in a not too distant future "for more than one night" !!!
My best regards

As most people are pointing out, one cannot really overemphasize the positive aspects of this place and its owners. From the relaxing and lovely patio next to the stream/canal, to the hospitable Jean-Claude and Moha who make you feel like you are their family, and are loaded with information about the history of this former textile mill and laundry, to the sumptuous breakfast they provide. Both speak English, but will speak French to you if you prefer. All in the seemingly undiscovered gem of medieval Loches. Our room was a triple on the top floor, which we had to ourselves. Comfortable, and in some ways like staying in a museum. We ate at the restaurant they suggested and it was a French feast of wine and salmon and duck and steak and potatoes and desserts to die for, and fairly reasonable by the weak standards of our US dollar. The Logis is easy to miss, though, as their sign is small. So, be sure to watch carefully along their street. Probably best to make a reservation so as not to miss out. Free WiFi, too.

Room Tip: If you are lucky enough to stay here all the rooms are great, and the common areas are relaxing and...

We had a wonderful stay for 3 nights at Le Logis du Bief. Our room was charming and the hospitality was warm and informative. Mohar and Jean-Claude made us feel welcome and answered all our questions. They had brouchers on hand for places we were interested in visiting. We visited the chateau and the keep in town and there was no other place in the Loire Valley like it. Highly recommend!

We stayed one night and wished it was two! The decor and attention to detail were second to none and the location in the midst of the medieval town was perfect. Tea was served in beautiful china on the pretty terrace, and everything at breakfast was home-made. Perfect!

Room Tip: Frogs noisy at night on top floor.

I must tell you that frogs are quite active until now but I think the love season is ending which is quite a relief for people who are not used to this nice songs.....

Thank you for you compliments but don't forget your promise : next time it will be 2 nights at least... I am joking of course. As i told you we have not a "livre d'or" which looks like a novel where peolple feel obliged to leave a lot of compliments because the owner is quite cloded to them. I leave this custom to hotels which seems to me more appropriate.
My best regards
