It isn’t easy to find somewhere for a snack on Sunday afternoon in Loches. I’d arranged to meet a friend there for tea and a chat.
We stumbled on the little restaurant called ‘Isabeau de Touraine’ which was open, and after sampling their wares, we were very pleased that we had found it. Amazingly, we were able to sit outside the restaurant and enjoy the afternoon sunshine even though our rendezvous was in October. The lady that served us was friendly and explained the drinks and desserts that were available that day.
I was tempted by their chocolate tart with a serving of melon ice cream. My friend chose lemon meringue tart. Wonderful! The melon ice cream was superb and the chocolate tart, I had to confess, was even better than the chocolate tart that I make at home.
Whilst we chatted, it was good to watch the people walking past the restaurant, and listen to the different languages of some of the other customers sat outside the restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our tea in Loches and would certainly recommend the restaurant to others.
