“Excellent location and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

Great location and wonderful owners! A very warm welcome from Cecile when we checked in as early as 3.30pm. She is a very jovial, helpful, understanding and resourceful lady. She helped us to find out where to rent a well-priced car so that we could drive to Chambord and Amboise during our 2 days stay in Chenonceau. If not, we will not be able to view the beautiful chateaus in France. We enjoyed the breakfast with nice baguettes and homemade jam which she prepares. We would definitely love to stay here again when we are back in Chenonceau. Thanks Cecile and Yves for your great hospitability at your cosy home!

Impeccably clean, spacious, and charmingly decorated. We stayed in the chambre jaune with the adjacent private bathroom and could not have been more pleased. Additionally, the hostess Cecile was truly superb. She was welcoming and facilitated delightful conversations with other guests, but left plenty of space for autonomy when desired. She is very knowledgeable about the region, including restaurant recommendations, and itinerary suggestions. Her husband Yves has also done some beautiful watercolors of nearby châteaux. Highly recommend!

Room Tip: We loved our stay in the chambre jaune with private bathroom.

What a gem! Reasonable prices in the heart of Caen. Lovely house, comfortable rooms, superb breakfast, warm welcome - what more could you ask for? It's a bit tricky to find by car as you get caught up in a one- way system and I'm glad I'd seen a photo of the house as I could recognise it. So much more pleasant than a hotel. (There's a kettle in the bedroom too).

Our cycling trip included the lovely Chenonceaux Chateau and this charming B&B ably managed by Cecile.

After a gruelling day in the saddle, we were greeted warmly and with the opportunity for a romantic dinner in the sprawling garden, with wine and candles.

It doesn't get any better than that!

Thanks
Cathy and Don

We stayed in this bed and breakfast for 2 nights and had a lovely time.
The hostess is very welcoming and knows the area so well that she will help you to create the itinerary that fits you.and with the smile!
It is a familial vibe and we really felt at home.
The breakfast is taken in a bright room of the house with a nice view on the garden, we met 2 nice couples and ended up chatting making it a superb way to start our days.
Thanks again for hosting us!!

Room Tip: We took the more expensive one to have our own bathroom. I found it intimate and liked the bathroom.

A friend and I stayed here for one night in September, and have nothing but good to say about this B&B!
Cecile and Ives were wonderful hosts, and spoke English! The traditional French dinner we had was delicious - as well as the breakfast. We met some other guests and I felt as if I were sitting in the living room of a good friend's house, drinking wine, champagne, and having snacks.
The outside grounds were beautiful, with a few tables to sit at and enjoy the peaceful setting.
The location is great, Chateau Chenonceau is very close. This was a great value for the money, and I hope to be able to stay here again.

Room Tip: I stayed in the Chocolat room, it was nice.

My wife and I stayed here for two days last Autumn. The house and location are lovely, and the owner of the B&B is a wonderful host. The owner is very welcoming and speaks English well, though she was also happy to converse with me in French despite that I'm not exactly fluent. She had excellent recommendations for places to visit and dine, and she was more than happy to make reservations for us for the fantastic restaurants in the area. Breakfast was very nice and we found it to be a great deal, and we really enjoyed having it with another couple also staying there. The house and grounds are very pleasant and a nice place to enjoy an afternoon tea or glass of wine if you need a break from visiting the many chateaux and beautiful towns in the area. Someday, when we get another chance to visit Loire, we will be sure to stay here again!
