“Quirky restaurant with live Jazz”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

This is a lovely restaurant that has live Jazz in the basement some evenings. The food is good and reasonably priced. Nice place to have a pre-dinner and after dinner drink downstairs.

“Lovely food in a lovely location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2011

My husband and I had a really nice meal here last night after a magical visit to Chartres cathedral. The restaurant was quiet when we got there at 7.30pm and we were shown straight to a table. We were given the menus but waited about ten minutes for our order to be taken, but to be honest this was pretty good compared to other restaurants we ate in in France. Our food was served fairly quickly. I had salmon and my husband had steak, which was cooked just right. We both had deserts which were equally good. This was one of the best, if not the best meal we had in the twelve days we were in France.

“We didn't want to leave...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2009

En-route home from Paris, we decided to stop off & see Chartres on a sunny October morning. After an hour touring around inside the cathedral (where they were starting to take down scaffolding in the nave -which was being partly renovated) we went out into the square and saw "Le Parvis" in one of the corners. What a great situation, full view of the cathedral, the square, an old side-street etc. We only had a snack & drink sitting outside but had a good look inside, which was amazing. Offbeat modern in an old building CAN be bad but this was just interesting and well-thought out. Tables, glasses etc. looked good also and the loo (w.c.) was ......well, other than the USA, we haven't come across a revolving/cleaning toilet seat before; it was worth having a coffee just to use the facilities!! Later, we discovered they have rooms as well and we shall certainly remember that as an overnight stop.
Friendly service, good, imaginative food at a reasonable price. France at its modern best-in an ancient location. Chartres, by the way, has a Route Touristique for pedestrians, giving good views and interesting streets to walk along. If you arrive on a road at low -level running alongside the small river, park there (paying) and walk over one of the bridges and find this route.
