This was 3rd leg of a 4 stop vacation. It was very relaxing, the grounds very nice. The family was really nice. Loved that the room was spacious & had a cottage feel. I only wish 1) they offered laundry facilities 2) there were screens on the windows. There was no a/c so the room was stuffy at night. After leaving the windows/door open we had several spiders in the room. Not far from the town, rental car recommended.

Room tip: Loved room 1 but unfortunately many spiders in the room after leaving the doors/windows open & they are not my favorite creatures. Also, the town laundry mat horrible, would be nice if they had a couple washers & dryers on site.

The staff was nice & helpful - but hard to talk with.
Room was nice & spacious - also clean.
Bath also big & very comfortable.
It is very quiet out in the country.
The one negative - it is out from town - about 10-15 minutes.

We stayed one night and were completely charmed by this lovely hotel, the informal check-in desk, the cosy and comfortable lounge area where we met for drinks and the beautiful rooms, decorated in shabby chic style but very clean and comfortable. Our room was large and our equally large bathroom had everything we needed, plenty of towels, big mirrors, bath, shower and a big elegant basin. The big patio doors opened to a small patio with chairs and a table, but unfortunately it was raining during our stay so we could not make use of it. The evening meal was lovely, the staff attentive, and the steaks cooked to our requirements. Despite the rain my husband took an early morning dip in the heated pool, and the breakfast, although on the "light" side for someone with a large appetite, was perfectly adequate for us. The buildings and gardens were very unusual for a hotel, and gave more an impression of a golf club with the informal layout, but we found them charming, and the owners could not do enough to help. Do take a map with you - we had the greatest difficulty in finding the hotel as it is not in Amboise itself, and our Satnav did not recognise the address given on the website. But well worth the effort!

Room tip: Rooms number 2 and 3 were ideal for people with difficulty climbing stairs!

A pleasantly situated hotel (converted Golf clubhouse with additional accommodation) 4kms from Amboise.
Rooms were passably spacious and the facilities worked. Balconies overlooked the ex Golf course and a mosquito breeding pool. We fortunately had a anti mosquito device for the bedroom, but eating on the apron of the restaurant caused us to be eaten a bit too!
The staff were excellent at dinner I reported a failed light, replaced by the end of dinner! They were also very helpful relating to car parking and local attrations.
It was a taxi ride to town Drinking and driving is now Gendarmed out in France, so we eat in. The food quality was excellent unfortunately the chef had an aversion to cooking things and specialized in Tartare dishes (2/3 of the dishes were uncooked) It was a limited menu and the higher priced items were expensive (main dishes more than 20 euros) the cheaper items concentrated on being raw.

Room tip: In Summer get a room as far from the pond as you can, do not eat in unless the chef has started heating the food!

Our second stay at this hotel and it remains a great place. Ok its modern and the rooms are in a seperate building to the breakfast/restuarant room but its in a stunning location and it was very comfortable. Very welcoming hosts and a nice spacious clean room to start with. The food is adverttsed as light and therefore you don't get huge portions but the quality is excellent with a good choice of wine. Breaksfast also very good with very fresh pastries and bread. All in all a recommended hotel.

Room tip: Nothing specific but it is near water so expect some noise from the wildlife!
