“Lots of positives ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

Enjoyable stay in Dijon (which is just a gorgeous city). Lots of positives for this hotel. Friendly staff on arrival who spoke good English.

Liked the history of the building and that we got an old style balcony overlooking the trams and the city. Centre of town only a short walk.

Room was quiet, a good size, clean and tastefully furnished. Lots of good extras (safe, fridge, drinks facilities, iPod Dock). Air conditioning was quick and efficient turning a warm room on arrival into a pleasant, cool one in little time.

Bathroom was really nice, had that rare thing of lots of natural light (most hotel bathrooms have no windows) and a great shower (but no bath)

Internet worked easily and quickly. Breakfast was very good quality if a little expensive.

Couple of points to note. Since the arrival of the trams, you can't drive up to the hotel nor easily stop to ask what you should do with your car. Best to ask ahead. We didn't and so had to park in the station (which is next to the hotel - parking is about a 5 minute walk. The hotel will give a discount for station parking). Secondly, if you are on the front of the building, the neon lights at the front are very bright at nighttime. The curtains / window furniture probably need a bit more work to block that out.

But those two small points aside, a very pleasant stay.

We stayed one night at the Kyriad and it was a nice hotel. The room was recently remodeled and was clean. The location is right across from the train station and a short walk to the touristy part of town. We asked for a quite room and it was really quite. The wireless coverage was good in the room. We did not opt for the breakfast.

My wife and I stayed in Dijon while passing from Paris to Lucerne. We stayed here because my wife used to study here in Dijon and she wanted to see the city again.

This hotel is almost directly in front of the train station. Don't bother with Google Maps' walking directions. They took us way out of the way.

This hotel had a very modern room, and a very nicely sized shower, too. The provided bath gel was my favorite of all of the items we had included while on our honeymoon.

Having breakfast included would have been a nice touch. I didn't care for the cost - I believe it was 12 or 15 euros per person.

The location was a simply walk from town center. For the cost, this hotel was a good value. We would stay here again.

Hotel has been renovated/upgraded since the Google Map streetview was taken. Location was right next to the train station, which was helpful as we travelled in the midst of a train strike and had to on the return journey jump on the earliest train back to Paris in order to get seats. Hotel was not too far from the town centre - about 10-15 minutes walk. We stayed on the second floor and the bed room had 2 large beds which suited my family of four. The room (no. 200) was larger than normal (about 3-4 metres of space from the beds to the wardrobe/desk). The tram stop was right downstairs, while we could hear the trams during the day, it was not an issue at night (and we were out touring most of the day anyway). Convenience stores plus a Subway right across the street. Budget-wise - found it good value for a family stay.

Room Tip: For families, ask for Room 200 - two large beds in a spacious room. Another family had Room 300 righ...

We arrived Dijon at afternoon and joined the wine tour at next morning. Only have a night time stayed here. So that, the noise of the tramway has not distrubed us too much. Rooms are mordern and clean. Location is excellent and easily to reach by 3 minutes walk straight forward from Dijon Train Station. Our wine tour finished a little bit earlier, we can take a break at hotel's lobby till last minute to catch the train!

I will agree with many other reviews which point out the well-appointed, newly-refurbished rooms and the hotel's location, right across from the train station and just down the street from the city's center. Maybe it's because our room overlooks the light rail but our whole room shakes every time the rail passes, starting at 6am. Wifi was spotty. Air conditioning worked well when we cranked it all the way up. All in all a good value. Skip the 15 euro breakfast and go next door to Harold's Bagels.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms overlooking the light rail
