“Superb B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

This was a spacious, superb B&B in Beaune.

Room: Very large (we stayed in the printing room), with big windows and very large bathroom. There were lots of cute appointments (e.g. writing "chaud" vs. "stop" to indicate directions to turn the faucet knobs). The bed was the most probably the most comfortable we have encountered on our travels. A little bit of color would be nice (it's a very dark/black room), however, it also allows for a very dark, very quiet sleeping atmosphere, which was great.

Bathroom: Wonderful. The ONLY drawback is that the shower is capable of producing water at a rate greater than the drain can drain - so if you turn the shower all the way up, you could flood the bathroom! I hope the B&B owners will address this so future travelers won't be surprised. But really - how often can a traveler EVER say that their shower has too much water?

Location: It is located just outside of the Beaune "moat" - but it's still close. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the city center. We were perfectly fine with its location. During the busy season, it might even be nicer to have this place be out of the way.

Service: Marie is a fabulous host. She and her husband Sebastien are happy to give you advice and make arrangements as necessary. Breakfast is complete. A wonderful experience and worth revisiting.

If you are looking for a special room, atmosphere and experience go for Maria's and Sebastian's lovely, unique rooms they offer. You can feel the huge amount of efforts and thoughts they put into their original and impeccable rooms, with a touch of practical thinking included (wine opener, wine glasses - it is a wine region after all; an iPad and wifi, as well as magazines and newspapers);
Breakfast is fresh, tasty and homemade (I shoudl have asked for that pineapple jam) - really a great stay and lovely people! Excellent Value for money....

The hosts are great. Seb & Mary provide a warm welcome and are than anxious to accommodate.
We spent two days but could of spent more time easily. The location is perfect, walking distant to just everything in town.
Great breakfast, great location, great hosts what more does one require.

Stayed here two nights and was very impressed with the warm welcome and delightful room. Off street parking and private entrance are also a plus. Marie is ever so charming and knows the area very well.

I am not one to write reviews but thought I would make an exception for Marie and Sebastian. Our stay at their lovely B&B was excellent. The room was most comfortable, well appointed, a great and large rain shower, a most comfortable King size bed and even an IPAD for our enjoyment. Marie is a wonderful hostess, she provided us with a delicious daily breakfast, wonderful recommendations for meals in town and she was just such a joy to spend time with. She was always willing to help and made us feel at home. Great location and I would highly recommend a stay at this lovely B&B. I plan on recommending it to all my friends and family. Thank you Marie for all you did to make our stay so pleasant. Alicia and Dan Duran

Room Tip: At this time there are two rooms available, both lovely.

Our stay with Marie was for lack of a better word...perfect! She has thought of everything to make your stay in her cosy B&B a memerable one. From a very comfortable king size bed and sheets, to an oversized shower. My favorite, was her amazing selection of organic and mostly home made breakfast items. Marie also went out of her way to organize dinner reservations and gave us helpful and handy hints about how to not get caught in the tourist trap places in town. Be sure to go to the Saturday market in town too! Her place is a short 5min stroll into town. I've used trip advisor frequently over the years, but this is my first review as I wanted to share with you how lovely this B&B (& Beaune) really is! 10/10 and I'm hard to please!

I booked this B&B having seen some good reviews. My wife and myself
stayed 2 nights as a stopover to our journey South.
We have stayed in Beaune previously at the Hotel de la Poste, a nice hotel, but obviously paying far more than at this property.
It is a bit of a surprise when you first see this property. A large wooden gate leads into an old industrial rear courtyard, so don't expect any great views here.
The owner Marie-Pierre is a charming,helpful host, and greeted us with tea on the 'roof' terrace. The air-conditioned room is a delight - much better than the two we stayed in at de La Poste.
A huge comfortable bed, with mattress topper, dominates the room. The rustic wooden floor has rugs either side of the bed. 4 small bottles of mineral water were provided, as was an iPad and free wifi.
Modern dark wallcoverings and standard lamps are contrasted with antique-type chairs, table and fittings - and it works.
The bathroom is fitted with a Villeroy-Bosch shower, sink and vanity unit,
and a heated towel rail. No bath, which didn't concern us as we prefer a shower. Sumptuous towels and robes are also provided.
The rain shower is the best I have ever used. It also has a smaller shower head on a hose for those who do not wish to be drowned!
Breakfast is super with fresh breads,boiled eggs, ham and lovely jams,butter and yoghurts - Marie advises all organic.
She also arranged a dinner booking for us, and attempted to book a lunchtime meal and tasting on a vineyard we had a particular interest in;
sadly fully booked.
A big pleasant surprise all round and we will certainly return when in this area. Marie was working hard to complete a second room, the weekend we were leaving. I'll be intrigued to see the result.
Note:- Payment was only by cash.

Room Tip: There will only be two to choose from!
