“Wonderful Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

We stayed here for three nights in early July 2012 and were very pleased with our choice. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful; the rooms were large, comfortable, and clean, and there was no noise problem. Breakfast was delicious, and there were several restaurants within convenient walking distance. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

We stayed in the Belle Epoque for one night on our way to Italy at the beginning of June. We were shown to room 32 in the pretty courtyard. The accommodation was huge, including a massive bathroom and separate toilet. Plenty of wardrobe space for a longer stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was good to be able to see that the car was parked securely in the courtyard. Very close to the centre of town. All in all, an excellent hotel which we would have no hesitation in recommending and revisiting.

We stayed at Hotel Belle Epoque for 3 nights in early August, and were not disappointed. The room was larger than we expected, and the location is great - a short walk to the town, a short bike ride or drive to the surrounding vineyards, quiet and secure at night. The staff were very friendly, allowed us to try out our french and mercifully rescued us when it became too painful. The cost for breakfast was not great value - at the nightly cost it would have been reasonable for it to be included. On a future trip we'd probably venture out for the morning meal. That said, we didn't really luck out with meals in town - our expectations were for "fantastic", we consistently got "pretty good".

We enjoyed our 4 nights here when visiting the Burgundy area. The location is great for walking into town and for driving out into the countryside. The hotel is unique in its layout, with rooms around a courtyard. The staff helped us with our requests promptly and in a friendly manner. We didn't eat breakfast there as we only want an espresso in the morning. The room and bathroom were clean and pleasant , but a little dark. Could have used more lights in the room. That was a minor issue. I would recommend this hotel to anyone I know planning a visit to the area.

The staff went out of their way to help me with my bags, with booking a taxi for me, and with anything I needed during my 3 night stay. My room was humongous and incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with ham and cheese and selection of breads and jams. It was very convenient for my day trips to the wine regions just south of Beaune, and for exploring the town.

It was a bit of a hike from the train station.

Like many before we picked this hotel/ town as a midway point from south to north France. We only stayed 1 night.
Room was great, downstairs, huge double bed, even bigger bathroom. Free car park. we didnt spend much time in the room, as we had been driving all day, we went straight out to eat
The girl on reception on our arrival was great - very helpful and hardworking, wish id noted her name so she could get the credit! she was even helping people how and where to park on our arrival.
first impressions of Beaune were good, we had just come from Sarlat in the Dordogne and initially anticipated something of the same ilk. the town is indeed very pretty with a selection of restaurants. But we felt they were all maybe 10-20% overpriced for what they offered. The restaurant we chose (wish i remembered the name so i could give them this feedback) offered decent food and service. that was until my husband tried to pay on his english credit card. He was told the machine wasnt working and given directions to the nearest ATM. While he was gone for 15 mins! i noticed the owner accept a card transaction from a French couple, so it seemed he had an issue accepting the English credit card.
The town also had a slight yuppy feel to the clientele, and having come from the warm and welcoming town of Sarlat, Beaune felt a little cold in this respect
So. Good for a 1 night stop, wouldnt return to the town. Wouldnt have a problem staying at the hotel again though

Room Tip: only stayed in 1 - far end ground floor and had no complaints

All I knew about the Hotel Belle Epoque was what I had read on Trip Advisor. It seemed like the right combination of quality and price for our family of 5, so we made a booking for 1 night in late August (2012). When we saw the sign and then turned into the gravel courtyard, I had a feeling that this was going to be good - and I was right. Quaint, comfortable, authentic, charming and friendly are just some of the adjectives that could be used to describe the Belle Epoque. When we first stepped into our room what we noticed was the air-conditioning. It was awesome! Exactly what we needed after travelling all day, and essential at night when temperature outside only drops to 70 F (20 C). The room was clean, the decor was old-world cozy, and the breakfast was fantastic (if a little pricey). Beaune was a wonderful little town to visit - I hope we have a chance to stay at the Belle Epoque again on another trip to the beautiful Burgundy area!

Room Tip: Ask for the Family Room for a party of 4 or 5
