“If you are into tasting, best bang for the buck/euro”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

One of the few places that seemed to welcome tourists into tasting without a reservation. Caves were great and getting to taste 13 wines for 13 euros was very enjoyable. Now the downside - you taste with a sipping cup, not a glass, which is not very deep and easy to spill. I had hoped that the tasting would have been spread out as you walked. It was all together at the end of the tour so you were chugging 13 wines in a row. It was wide selection - 3 whites and 10 reds with the bottles ranging from about 15 euros to about 35 euros. The employees in the wine shop were very helpful but the ones down in the caves were very arrogant and acted as if you had never seen wine before. They felt the need to overexplain everything. For someone who has been to Napa and to Tuscany it was a bit condescending. Still recommended though.

“Not for the tee totallers!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

An excelllent attraction that you can see in your own time as the trip is unaccompanied which we found really nice. The videos are informative and the cellars are very impressive. The wine tasting itself was excellent.

“Designed for volumes of tourists”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

We wanted to see the amazing caves in Beaune and Patriarche was recommended as a good way to see the scale of caves. The self guided tour enables you to see the caves and take as much or as little time as you wish to wander through. At the conclusion you can taste the wines but the metal tasting cup provided as part of the entrance fee isn't my ideal way of doing this. I guess it prevents one from drinking copious amounts of the samples. There are many samples to taste, so it might be a good idea to take a small bottle of water to try and refresh your palate between the 10+ different wines on offer to taste. I was so keen to try some of these world famous wines but I ended up being a bit put off by the experience - maybe it was the metal cup, maybe it was the volume of samples, overall though for me, probably not the best introduction to wines of Burgundy.

“Cellars and wine tasting.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

Cellars ar the most extensive in Beaune. Wine tasting disappointed and some guidance was given by an overbearing and arrogant young(ish) man. The wines by and large were not up to scratch, it was an expensive tour and a definitve disappointment

Beaune is wine capital of Burgundy and Patriarche Pere et Fils
is most remarkable winery in Beaune. Caves are idyllic place and of course, there is self service wine tasting.

First You can taste 3 different kind on white wines. At Your own pace. And then you wander ahead and get taste 10 red wines. When tasting is over, You can buy wine to bring back home. And they can ship wine to your home country also, minmun order is 24 bottles.

Must visit if you like to drink wine.
