“Food/Service Dichotomy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

Food was fantastic. Only place in 7 days in France where they really copped an attitude w/regards to service. We tried our best to at least address the owner in French but he quickly grew inpatient w/us.

It was amazing to see how warm he was to other guests.

Still, the duck I had here was super high quality.

“Excellent wine list. Food average.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013 via mobile

Yes agreed the wine list is extensive. We had a bottle of 'Pommard' as selected by the owner/waiter which was excellent. We had no issues with the service at all. The food, as we found it, was average. My partner had the canard for the main and it was over cooked (only the slightest amount of pink). We did enjoy the night but have experienced much better cuisine elsewhere.

“Cozy Atmosphere”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

A very small bistro style restaurant. Book in advance - not open on saturday and sunday. Fine food and extensive wine list.

“an institution, but worth returning every trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Ma Cuisine is one of those places you just have do if you're in Beaune. The food is straightforward, but to the highest standard, Pigeoneaux is always my first choice. Famous for its wine list, the range is impressive, but in recent years it has been stripped of the older vintages, inevitable, I suppose, but a shame. A haunt of the more prosperous local winemakers.

“Suberb Wine List”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

You come to Ma Cuisine less for la cuisine than for le vin; that is, it's really a wine-lover's paradise, with good food to accompany it. The wine list is very extensive, and the order of the bottles is from cheapest to most expensive. Among the food which we enjoyed let me mention in particular the boeuf bourgignon, which was exceptionally good on a cold evening, and the simple plate of excellent epoisse cheese. As many others have noted, it is difficult to get a table here, but we had no problem reserving a few days in advance.
