“Certificate of Excellence is well deserved!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

We recently spent two nights at Chez Marie and could not have been happier with our choice of lodging. Marie greeted us warmly upon our arrival and led us to our spacious accommodations in the Annex, a comfortable living area with kitchen supplies on the ground floor and lovely bedroom (with comfortable bed and linens) and bath on the second. Free parking was just down the block and once we parked, we never drove anywhere because it was fun exploring Beaune on our interlude between Paris and Lyon.

Chez Marie is ideally situated just a few minutes' walk from the center of the charming old town, and for our first visit there we decided to take advantage of that proximity to just explore some of its attractions. Marie and Yves were delightful hosts, and their young son was darling. Marie provided great tips, like buying the legendary Fallot mustard (good tour) at the nearby grocery rather than at the factory for better prices, and getting discounts on admissions to attractions at the local tourism office.

Breakfasts were served in the lovely garden (How DID they get that beautiful, massive, ancient portal into the courtyard???), and featured Marie's homemade preserves, fresh fruit compotes, delicious granola, fresh squeezed orange juice, croissants and bread, coffee, tea and the sublimely creamy yogurt Marie makes. We look forward to returning and to exploring more of the surrounding wine route, which features so many notable vineyards.

Room Tip: Our suite was comfortable and lovely, but the second night I did use earplugs because with windows o...

I chose Chez Marie based on other reviews from Tripadvisor and visited last summer. It was one night stay but I preferred a nice and clean room. It is conveniently located between the station and city center for someone who are comfortable walking. The house itself is so charming with a little garden and clean and modern rooms with a renovated restroom (with a shower booth). My room had windows to the garden, but it is a small house anyway and you can just sit on the chairs in the garden and have a peaceful moment under the sun. The owner family was having guests when I came back from dinner and strangely it even gave a feeling that you are living there. Next morning I had a typical French healthy breakfast with bread, yogurt, home-made confiture with coffee and juice, to be prepared for another long day sipping wine. Cost performance would be better for 2 people.

Loved this B & B. Staying in the room across the courtyard which has its own little living space, with kitchenette and 2 bedrooms. Beautifully decorated and modern.

Marie is absolutely lovely and so is her little son. They made us really welcome and our son was able to play with his toys and play in the courtyard together.

Managed to park for free on the road which was ideal.

Breakfast was the best we had in France. Homemade Yogurt and Jams. Lovely Croissants and fruit. Yum!

Beaune is great base for visiting the surrounding vineyards and the town centre is easy walking distance from Chez Marie with lots of restaurants.

Room Tip: The room across the courtyard is spacious and perfect for family.

We were at the end of a long holiday in Europe and 5 nights in Beaune at Chez Marie was just what we needed. Marie and Yves were great hosts and our room was excellent. We had decided to book the larger room adjacent to the courtyard to give us a bit more space, a good choice as it turned out. We had our breakfast in the courtyard right outside our window from which we could also see young Gaspard playing with his toy trucks.
Chez Marie is very well located on the edge of the old city and only 10 minutes walk from its centre. Beaune is a beautiful town and of course right in the heart of beautiful Burgundy.

Thank you Marie and Yves for being such good hosts.

I had a wonderful stay at Chez Marie in Beaune mid-July of this year. Marie is very attentive and is very caring as a host / proprietor. The breakfast is fantastic and just what you need to start your day. The rooms are clean and the location is great as it is only a 3 min walk to the main square of Beaune.

Chez Marie was a great place to stay in Beaune. The charming family was friendly and helpful. Our room was very modern, with a very comfortable bathroom. The breakfast was excellent and served outdoors in a little courtyard where we were entertained by three year old Gaspard and his soccer ball. Charming! It was a hot day, but a fan kept us comfortable at night. WiFi worked well.

We loved our stay at Chez Marie.

We stayed in Cote Sud and the was perfect. The bed was very comfortable, with great bed linnen. The room was nice and clean with a great bathroom and shower. Even though the room was facing the street, it was nice and quiet.

But the best thing about Chez Marie is the lovely breakfast. We were lucky that the wheater was nice, so we were able to have breakfast in the beautiful courtyard with the other guest.
And what a breakfast it was. Marie had set a lovely table with freshly pressed orange juice, the most fantastic homemade yoghurt with müsli, fresh bread and croissants and homemade jams.
Marie is the perfect host that makes sure all the guest are comfortable and have everything they need. She takes her time to talk to all of the guests during breakfast, and comes with suggestions for how to make the best of Beaune. And Marie's little son made sure that all the guest were entertained during the breakfast. It was such a nice and warm setting.
