Stayed here as a stop over to the South of France with our two teenage boys.
When we arrived at 8pm the Receptionist was freindly and very helpful and as we had been driving for 8 plus hours, we (foolishly) booked to eat in the hotel restaurant.
Overall the building is lovely but need much TLC to bring it up to scratch. The setting is beautiful (but we missed this as we arrived in the dark). Our rooms were the standard ones, so we were not expecting luxery, however our room was tiny (the bathroom was OK) and the carpet smelt of feet! There was a broken lightbulb and a curious ( and slightly unpleasant) stain on the bed spread.
The boys had a huge room on the other side of the hotel which they were happy with.
We could have coped with this if it had not been for dinner-the fixed price menu was 39 Euro, and we assumed it would be good. Started well with some appetizers ( despite the supercilious waiter who though he was at Claridges!), but rapidly went downhill.
To cut a long story short-the hotel is OK-but I think the rooms vary in comfort - however please don't bother with the restaurant -it is overpriced, with awful food and waiting staff, although not rude-clearly wanted to be somewhere else.
For the price we paid, we expected more-the one highlight in the service was the helpful receptionist.
With more care and attebtion this could be a great venue.
