“Charming hotel with an amazing view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2011

We went to Saint Malo and asked at the reception if there was still a room available. The receptionist was very friendly and showed us the two available rooms and explained everything. We stayed in a street side room which was rather small but beautiful. Unfortunately the street side is rather noisy except from about 11 pm to 7 am.
Breakfast was amazing! When entering the breakfast room you see the sea and can sit right at the window and enjoy a good continental breakfast with the sound of the waves.
If you're looking for a romantic little hotel in Saint Malo (a few minutes from the old town) then try to get a seaside room.

Room Tip: Ask for seaside room if you really want to enjoy the bay!

We arrived off of the overnight ferry and as we felt like a walk we strolled for about 30mins to this beautiful hotel. The location is perfect as it's close enough to the wall old town to be visited easily but far enough away to not be disrupted by it at night. The local restaurants are great too but be warned they are a little pricey.

The hotel staff speak English better than my French however they can only really deal with the basics of conversation. Having said this they were very friendly and helpful and this was never a problem. The hotel is beautifully decorated inside and out and we had a fabulous view of the sea. The room was small but had all the facilities we needed and one of the best showers I have had in any hotel. The bed was so comfy that I slept better than at home and the sound of the waves at night was the perfect tonic. The shutter on our window broke whilst we were there however the hotel had it fixed by the time we got back from our sight seeing that day. Everything was clean and the breakfast very yummy and plentifull.

I loved staying in this hotel and would not hesitate to recommend it.

Room Tip: You must have a sea view and try and get the larger balconies for making the most of the views

Great location right on the beach. Parking was easy and the hotel is charming. Room was smallish but sea access on balcony made up for that. Loved it.

We were delighted with our recent stay at the Hotel Beaufort. It is ideally located on the boardwalk with an easy stroll to the old walled city.

Our room had a private terrace on the ground floor with a wonderful view overlooking the sea. The hotel was very clean and has been recently renovated. It is located in a quiet section of the city with free parking available on the road outside the hotel. The hotel dining room and bar has nice view of the waterfront and serves a continental breakfast option and drinks during the day. All the staff and management at the hotel were friendly and helpful.

We were extremely pleased with their restaurant recommendation for dinner just a few minutes away on the boardwalk – le Sillon Brasserie...reservations are required. This restaurant has a number of enticing gourmet fixed menu options as well as daily specials.

Mont St Michel is a must see a short drive away.
If we are ever again in Saint-Malo we would definitely stay at the Hotel Beaufort.

We came with our 4 sons, 19-25. We all loved the hotel, its location and the beach. It was a 15 minute walk to St. Malo. We would walk the beach or use the sidewalks. Our rooms were very comfortable as well as the beds and bathrooms. The staff were very helpful with suggestions and maps. Parking was not an issue either. The days were sunny, we just wished they were a bit warmer. We would love to return. Hotel Beaufort gave us great memories.

Room Tip: Ask for beachside or the first floor with the balcony. Rooms are small, but comfortable.

Six of us got off the ferry and went straight to the hotel just as breakfast was finishing. Was there any chance of breakfast, we asked, no problem, they said, and tables were immediately laid for six.
Our rooms were available soon after, much earlier than expected, they were clean, tidy with an excellent shower, as is so often the case in France! These rooms were not sea-facing, and were very reasonably priced in a package with Brittany Ferries.
Prices in the bar were reasonable, and the coffee was excellent!
There were good local restaurants within a few minutes walk, our favourite being the Taverne du Commerce just down the road.
This was a family celebration with our children and their partners, we will definitely go again to this hotel, just as a couple!

The Beaufort is a charming hotel, very intimate, fantastic sea views and a great breakfast. It was extensively renovated about 10 years ago in a relaxed 'nautical boutique' style. We've stayed there many times over the years. However, it seems that the management have finally lost the plot on their pricing policies. The rates were always on the 'high' side, but after a recent stay in a very small double ensuite with sea view, we were charged 251 euros per night for bed & breakfast. This pricing is far too high and does not compare with similar hotels of similar specification. Also, despite the renovation 10 years ago, the decorations and general fabric are now starting to show signs of wear and tear. he owners appear to have become too complacent - sharpen up the product and stop being too greedy on your pricing!

Room Tip: Sea views are the best - but beware the extortionate prices

Hotel prices at sea side resorts vary significantly with the time of year, especially during busy holiday weekends. Most hotels now practice what is referred to as yield management, also common with airlines and train companies. This system has been in use since the hotel was remodelled. This may confuse clients as the same room with a lower price in low season will be priced much higher at busier times of the year.
Although the hotel was remodelled 10 years ago, at the end of each tourist season, carpets are replaced, furniture repaired, painting touched up, and often larger changes made such as the transition to flat screen televisions and duvets on each bed.
We make all efforts to make our pricing policy as transparent as possible so our clients have no surprises when arriving. The majority of hotels in France do not include breakfast when quoting room prices. Breakfast and the City Hotel Tax are listed separately but must be added to the total price of the stay.
