“Perfect for the ferry”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2011

Staff were very friendly and helpful. I was staying with my daughter and booked a twin room but we were given a double room. When I went to reception we were given another double room next door, so we each had our own room at no extra cost. As it was later than we planned when we arrived we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant instead of going in to St Malo and were very pleased with the meal and the wine. There only seemed to be 2 staff who were working in reception and waiting on and serving at the bar but they were working very efficiently and we didn't have to wait for anything even though they had a large party of people in another room that they were also serving.
I would be happy to stay there again.

We stayed one night in this hotel prior to a ferry to UK. Very average and overpriced. Bedroom and bathroom OK - had a balcony but no chair to sit on it, and it was on a busy roundabout, so not very relaxing! Breakfast was additional cost, expensive and very average - bread not fresh and black bananas in the fruit bowl - uuk! This is in my opinion strictly a one night stop/transit hotel which I will avoid in future.

Stayed here just for one night. Waited for quite a while to check in as nobody seemed to be working on the reception or were also working in the bar area.
Rooms were ok a bit on the small side but had free wifi which was good. We stayed on a Saturday night and on check in they told us the restaurant was closed that evening ?? No explanation and no alternatives offered. As the hotel is located in a commercial area there are only supermarkets and fast food restaurants .
The hotel is a long way away from the old town in st Malo so we drove there for dinner. Beautiful place with great restaurants.
All in all this hotel is fairly average but clean. If you dont mind driving or getting a taxi its fine but if you are only staying one night I would stay somewhere more central.

Its ok if you just want somewhere to stay overnight, but if you want to see the town, then you have to drive or get the bus. It is located next to a retail park. You get free Internet, which is a bonus.

Although I was aware that the hotel was a little outside of St Malo, I was surprised just at how far it was. That said though, the very friendly receptionist told us that there is a bus service with a bus-stop a 2 minute walk from the hotel, costs 1EUR, and gave me a timetable book.

The hotel is located beside a Carrefour hypermarket, and there are numerous other shops around too. And one very good wine shop, in which I accidently bought way too much wine and cider to bring home.

We booked the hotel only a few weeks before travelling to St Malo, and everything else in a 30km radius seemed to be already full. We wanted to stay in St Malo and this was our only other option. But we're happy we did. Good value, and the fact it isn't in the town centre didn't matter, as on the bus you get to see some of the other side of the city.

We booked this on the internet, but did not realise that it was some way out of St. Malo or that dinner was not served on a Sunday night. The hotel is on a trading estate, so not the best place to relax outside, if indeed there was anywhere to sit ! However, it was quite easy to access from the motorway and we were eventually able to find somewhere to park in the town on a Sunday afternoon .
The hotel has an underground garage as well as outside parking.
Our room had a bathroom and separate WC and was a reasonable size. It was clean but impersonal.
There was a lift, so it would be good for disabled guests.
Breakfast was a buffet, pretty average.
Staff were as neutral as the hotel!
Parking in town was easy in the evening and there were were more attractive places to eat than the hotel dining room!

  • Liked — The fact that it was open on Sunday and had good parking
  • Disliked — Distance from town

This is a good three star hotel. The rooms are clean and simple. You may even be lucky enough to get a balcony. It is the type of hotel that you stay in for one night before you take the ferry back to England. There is a restaurant and bar area.

The location is great for the keen shopper. The hotel is near Carrefour and Maison du Monde. It is about 5 miutes from the main road into the centre of the town and near to the N137 the main road from Rennes.

While in St Malo for the night, make sure that you go to the walled area of the city (intramuros) which really comes alive at night with lots of restaurants and shops open fairly late in the summer.
