“Good Hotel for a short break”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

Centrally placed in St Malo within easy walking distance of Ferry Terminal which makes it ideal for leaving the car at home.
Friendly reception manned 24 hrs. Good clean bedroom.
Good variety of food for breakfast with ample space in breakfast room.
Only down side was that chambermaids tended to deliberately block the lift which, as there are six floors, is somewhat inconvenient to say the least.
Despite this, would happily use it again.

We stayed 4 nights to explore St Malo and the surrounding areas ie places like Mont St Michel. Hotel location, inside the city walls, was very good for both and offered, at an additional charge, a very good breakfast. Parking is extra but not far away. Staff was friendly and helpful. The free wifi worked well although the access codes had to be renewed each day from reception--an unnecessary inconvenience if one is staying several days. Close to excellent restaurants and cafes. We would stay here again.

Pros: staff speaks english and is very friedly, good breakfast, within the city walls of St. Malo, reasonable price, clean and very quiet, interesting view of the alley and of the front building' rooftops (if your room is on the higher floors).

Cons: the lift is quite small (I mean really small) and old, if in one hand it is quite charming (i loved it), in the other it might be a problem if you are a little claustrophobic or is carrying oversized luggage. St. Malo city within the old walls is a must-see place, a bedroom with sea view would be amazing.

Tip: on the high season it might be difficult to find a spot to park on the parking lot outside the walls, hotel parking area is small. I wouldn't say it is a con, it's more a caracteristic of the old city of St. Malo (check it on Google Street View for a better understanding).

Overall: very good hotel for a romantic weekend in France.

We stayed at this hotel for one night which was good value. The room was at the top of the hotel overlooking the roof tops of Saint Malo, which brought an interesting aspect. It was comfortable, clean but a little small, so manoeuvring in the bathroom was not for the faint-hearted.. I certainly will go back and stay there the next time I am in the region. Breakfast was standard and offered a small selection of choices and if you have your car and want to park it within the walls of Saint Malo, the bonus is that the hotel has a small lock up garage for 12 Euros a night. I recommend the hotel.

We recently stayed at this hotel prior to getting the ferry back to Guernsey after a 2 week trip to the Val de Loire. It is a good 3 star hotel. Not particularly fancy but it is in a really good location "intra muros" so it is right by the good restaurants and cafes. It also has a small parking area which is a bonus in St Malo. The room we had was very peaceful and comfortable. The buffet breakfast the morning after was pretty good too. Overall, a very good choice for a short stay in St Malo. The only problem we had was that we had fully paid for the room when we booked it on the Internet, but that did not seem to register initially with the receptionist until they checked their records carefully; so beware if you have booked your stay over 3 months in advance that you don't end up paying twice.

JMy wife and I stayed here for three nights and enjoyed the pleasant hospitality and friendly staff. The room was more than adequate, clean and quiet. For the attractions of St malo the hotel is perfectly located. My wife left behind some articles of clothing and they were dispatched to us promptly. I cannot comment on the breakfast but would recommend this hotel without hesitation..
