“What a bargain find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2011

After arranging a work trip to saint malo I needn't have been worried The hotel is in a perfect loacation, is modern, fresh and clean and the views spectacular. The room was large and airy, the twin beds larger than a normal single, there was a seperate dressing area and a very large shower in an equally large bathroom. Breakfast was a relaxed afair with a help yourself style but most tastes were catered for and no limit on amount. Wireless was fast easy and free would highly reccomend. Only downside not all in one building, no lift in main building (access difficulties prehaps) and no air conditioning apart from that perfect!

Room Tip: one in main building for larger rooms or one in other building for lift, third floor in both for bes...

All Seasons - as with all Accor hotels - are usually completely reliable, but this one, in many significant ways, is just not up to standard. The location is terrific, the staff were friendly, the breakfast good, the reception area clean and bright. End of good news. The bad news - the fire-trap room we were placed in, on the 5th floor, for 107€, was easily the worst I have ever been offered anywhere in the world. The elevator would struggle to accommodate one adult without a bag, the narrow, winding stairs are straight from a lighthouse, and the tiny, almost windowless twin-bed room had no air conditioning, and no emergency escape route whatsoever. Locating the hotel inside the beautiful walled city is not easy because of a poorly-signed one-way system (and an incorrect direction arrow), and even in September parking within walking distance took a very long time. In fairness, our grumble about the room led to an immediate offer of a move to a double room on the ground floor. Much larger, but still no air con, poor lighting and next to the noisy street. More acceptable, but still not value for money. Even allowing for the perfect location, sad to say we will not be returning this hotel (though faith in Accor brands remains intact!)

Room Tip: Under no circumstances accept a room on the 5th floor (and maybe the 3rd and 4th also)! And if you w...

The service was reasonable but car parking difficult. We had to wait in a queue to get into the car park. The real problem with this hotel was the tiny size of the room but even that would have been bearable for one night if it had not been for the persistent and very loud noise from the street which went on all night. I had earplugs with me which kept some of it out!
The breakfast room was not particularly efficient and things ran out. However the area is very convenient for the old city. I would not stay there again because of noise. It is possible that this might be less in low season.

The hotel has a good location and was very clean.
There is no parking in the hotel and It took more than an hour to find a place for parking.
The room is very email and no elevator. No air conditioning.
The staff are very friendly and has a nice breakfast.
The location is intra-muros.
A lot noise during the night ( drunken people).

We stayed at the All Seasons for a long weekend at the end of July. The hotel is in a great central location within the walls of the city, within walking distance to many great resaurants and bars, and about a 10 minute walk to the main beach. Our room had a lovely view of the boats in the port.

Apart from the location, everything else was pretty average for the rate of 110 Euro we paid per night. The rooms are really quite small (being generous, probably 3 meters wide and 5 meters long) and very, very basic. There is zero soundproofing - you can hear the conversations from the rooms next door loudly (most appreciated at 2am - thanks for that, lovely neighbour) and you will hear noise from outside as well due to the close proximity to bars etc. There's no air conditioning, safe, or kettle. It really is a bed (with one small pillow each), a small table, a stool, a TV and a bathroom.

Breakfast was included in the price but again was basic. Seating was always at a premium and things kept on running out - cutlery, food, glasses - and weren't replaced until someone asked. There was a kettle inside the main reception with "help yourself" next to it - designed to replace the tea / coffee / kettles in the rooms - which would have been lovely, had it not been a) devoid of water b) devoid of any tea or coffee c) devoid of milk. Even though the receptionist was sat less than 2 foot away, and he could clearly see that the supplies were low or indeed empty, they were never re-stocked. Sigh.

Saint Malo is a lovely, pretty city. Be sure to get up to the west of the city on the walls for sunset and you'll be rewarded with a beautiful view as the sun sets behind the sea and the forts. The crepiere up the road is very good too - and Timothy's cakes in the centre of town are not to be missed!!

If you can get the room for the lower advertised rate of 75E, I'd say go for it. It's a great location, but not a lot else.

Room Tip: Room 1 and room 4 looked particulary bad, right next to the entrance door or breakfast area.

The price is a little more than I'm used to paying (100 euros per night), but I would have to say it's worth the money if only for its prime location within the city walls.

When I first arrived after vacationing for 3 weeks, I realized I made my first ever booking mistake. I had booked 2 nights' stay online in June as opposed to July. When the receptionist told me this, my face turned all pale, but she quickly reassured me that there still was a room available at the same price. What a relief, and the receptionist was very kind in the process.

She also provided some good advice on where to visit and where to park. Parking was my next concern as it's a walled city with quite a few restrictions, but beyond the walls just a couple mins' walk from the hotel is a large parking lot.

Room itself was very comfortable with a nice view from inside the walled city. The only noteworthy thing I would criticize is the lack of a chair to bring up the desk. Almost every night I'd be transferring pictures from my camera cards to my external hard drive (via laptop), and in this hotel I found the process rather awkward, and had to rest my laptop on the (heavy) leather couch (that I could not simply pull over as a desk chair), and sit on the ground to do my work.

Nevertheless, it was an overall great experience.

I usually am not picky when it comes to a hotel room size and I understand the fact that we arrived late for an overnight stay might affect this but honestly the room was really minuscule. We could barely put our big luggages on the floor.

The location is really good, intra-muros means that you can walk anywhere in town but be careful though if you a light sleeper, this hotel isn't the best as there is a bar next door. We were disturbed the whole night by some drunkards shouting all night.

The breakfast was so-so, the only thing I like was the fresh orange juice that you press it yourself.

Room Tip: You only pay for the location...
