We have visited Brittany many times but Pleudihen-sur-Rance was new to us, and what a fantastic location it is. A delightful village, harbour and beach in the Rance Estuary with magnificant views across the bay. The village and surrounding area has all the amenities you could want, but what singles out the area is how easy it is to reach some of the major tourist attractions. Dinan, St Malo, Mont Saint Michel, and the picturesque seaside villages of the north Brittany coast are all very accessible. It is also a short car journey from the airport and the main port in St Malo.
The house itself is immaculate with real sense of history, and has been restored to a first class standard with evident love and care by the owners. There is a nice mix of light airy rooms and snug spots with open fires, and the house opens onto a secluded courtyard garden that is a real suntrap and an excellent location for enjoying the evening warmth with a barbecue
We travelled with you children (8 and 4) and found the house and the village to be a great base for both exploring and lazy days on the village beach which is 2 minutes walk from the house. The children were particularly taken the local seals who sun themselves on the sandbanks and seem to have been adopted as members of the village by the locals.
Would visit again in a heartbeat.
