We were full of hope for this restaurant and it's true it is very nicely presented indeed and the people were charming, however the starter I chose had an element, 'aubergine caviar' that I knew would disagree with me the moment I tasted it, very unusual for me. We both chose Chateaubriand beef and were given a choice of rare medium or well done and chose rare.
The meat that came was probably an inch and half thick with only the first milimetre cooked, the rest wasn't so much rare as raw, worse, it was tough.
Neither of us had more than half as it was just too chewy.
I guess some of it was our responsibility, we should have realised that in France rare means raw, and it wasn't the restaurants fault that I just didn't like the aubergine dish, just be careful what you order
