“The best "dessert" i had in St Jean de Luz”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012 via mobile

I went there middle of August , unfortunatly to late to book a table for dinner , restaurant was already full , so i went in a small place nearby to have dinner , but they had nothing appealing for dessert , so i came back at Zoko Moko later and asked the barman if i could just have a sweet . I must say i was not expecting to be really welcome but i got a good surprise , in 2 seconds , they set for me beautifully a small table near the fireplace and i got an amazing chocolate praliné cake ! They were all very friendly , service was perfect , this sweet was just fantastic ! Décor is nice too . So i guess the rest of the menu has the same quality and i will définitly go back with an early booking next time .

“Not the same place it used to be. Sad.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

I have been there last year and again this year. What a difference. Food is not as fabulous as it is used to be (still OK). Ingredients are changed without notice (potatos instead of mushroom). Definitely not the best restaurant in St. Jean de Luz anymore.

“Yummy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

my family and I went to this delightful restaurant during our holiday in the area. We all had the chance to taste a bit of everything - and everything was amazing. So much so that some of us wanted to reorder some main dishes - unfortunately the kitchen was closing down! Go early, you will probably want to order and taste more of their food. Oh and yes... 10 of us to manage with 2 dogs... the service was impeccable!

“Wonderful food but poor service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012

Despite two calls confirming our reservation (initially booked by our long-established and trustworthy hotel), when we arrived at the appointed time, the restaurant claimed not to have any indication of it on their books. (One of the confirmation calls was directly before we arrived at the restaurant! All confirmation calls and the initial booking were either in native or decent French.) Instead of apologizing about the mix up, the Maitre D was unbelievably rude, defensive, and aggressively unpleasant. After we insisted and explained about the reservation, we were given the chance to wait for an hour or so until a table opened up. (It was late in the evening, so we chose to wait rather than wandering around to secure a table elsewhere on that busy Saturday evening). Finally, when we experienced it, the food was excellent. In my opinion, the restaurant needs to work hard to fix up its service and welcome, if it is ever to be considered truly first rate.

“The place to eat at”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2012 via mobile

If you love good food and service, this is the place. We tried the tasting menu and also the À la carte. The tasting menu is for the hungrig ones, but delicious. The beef is à must and also the chocolatedessert. The service is excellent and always helpful.
We tried other restaurants but no one even close to Zoko Moko.
